all those reasons pretty much sum up why i'm not big on festivals. i went to Coachella once years ago, and that's enough for me. i'd rather pay to see one of my favorite bands playing their own shows. maybe i'm just getting old too festivals are fun to do once in a blue moon but that's about it!

ITA. So many good bands, but it's just so not the way I want to enjoy a show.
I'm holding out for Gaslight to do a US tour maybe this fall or something?? (One can hope!)

I know what you're saying, but with my situation (most likely by myself with a bunch of camera equipment) I'm not interested in adding a bunch of extra walking :\

I'm hearing rumors that they're starting around 7. I'm basing this off of the time on their website and hearing that they are on right before Bon Jovi or something. Not sure but that's the closest I've come to real information. Bamboozle said they release the times and who is at what stage like a few days before.

Last year we found out Wed. or Thu. and it was TOTAL TORTURE! The headliners (30STM, TBS, Lil' Wayne) went on around 10 on Fri/Sat and 9:30 on Sunday.
At least it's not like Warped where you don't know til the day of the show. That was aggravating.

Whoa, Brand New is playing the stone pony afterparty on saturday. 30 dollars in addition to the ticketprice, and you can only go if you have a bamboozle pass. Def worth it.

I like both, never seen either live. Which should I see?

hard as it is to argue against bouncing souls in asbury park, you'll have more chances to see them in the future than brand new.

Anyone who has been to a festival before have any tips for getting to the front for Gaslight's set?

I think it depends on the act. Like last year, Taking Back Sunday was absolutely crazy down front, but 30 Seconds to Mars wasn't as bad. But basically since the stage is so large, getting front row isn't as hard as say, a small club where only 50 people can fit. Overall I haven't had much trouble at festivals. Though, i don't know how psycho Bon Jovi fans are about getting there early and camping out down front all day. So I have no advice. Except I guess to treat it like how you would any other show you want front row for.

I'd say if you can't get barricade, you'll at least get in the general area of the front. It's so hard to say, cus (namedrop, sorry) at All Points West I was able to get down front for Coldplay and Jay-Z after shooting in the pit, whereas w/ TBS last year I had to fight my way out through a basic sauna pit. I tend to think Bon Jovi's crowd is slightly older so it won't be super bad. But I don't know.

My goal is to get there as early as possible and just work my way up to the front. And also not get completely crushed because I'm a tiny human.
