It doesn't disappoint. It's really great. It's the singer songwritter stuff. Brian is really good at this. I didn't expected much, but it works really well.

I have the feeling these were supposed to be on his solo album. Whatever, it's really good.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure lyrics to red lights were posted on his instagram last year around the time when the solo album discussions were going on.

Not sure how the songs were ripped, whether it was just audio capture software or you actually downloaded the embedded mp3 through the links. I don't if the sound sound capture changes the sound at all so if anyone wants the mp3 here's a quick little tutorial. It seems difficult because there's quite a few steps but it's really easy.

1. Copy Song Link
2. Paste into Chrome
3. Right Click and click Inspect Element
4. Click on the Network Tab
5. Refresh Chrome
6 Hit Play
7. If you click the Size it will arrange the items by size and you should see a file that is 2 or 3 MB.
8. Right Click on the name and click Copy Link Address
9. if you paste it into Chrome it should open up a url mp3 player which lets you know you did it right
10. copy the same link into firefox
11. Right click on the seek bar and right click save as mp3

The chorus of Smoke is exactly the kind of writing that I've been wanting from Brian the past couple years that was missing on Handwritten. Bizarre imagery. Hope the new album has songs like that.

This is extremely surprising. I didn't blink twice when I saw that it wasn't being included. To me it was clearly the weakest song of the bunch. The only thing that stood out about that song was that one of the verses ended with Sink or Swim. Eh…different strokes, I guess.

I'll say it again but these songs are really excellent.

I can't make up my mind which of these is my favorite. Right now it's a 4-way tie between Sketchy, Long Drives, Lucky, and Smoke. Red Lights is catchy but (in comparison to the others) less interesting. Although it's still great. And even if 7th and Union was their weakest, I still wish we had even a demo recording of it :/

Also, I'm really enjoying that the lyrics are far more ambiguous and open to interpretation than the Handwritten album was. While I still love HW, I've missed this kind of writing from Brian.

They should put that thing out as a 12inch or something. this is way too good to stick to mp3s only. I'm on repeat since I got the files.

I wish I knew the legality of making a bootleg vinyl. But I'm mean it was done by the person who made that no retreat no regret boot vinyl.
