| Damn this album is an absolute jam.
Not his best lyrical effort, but I'll be goddamned if I don't want to just dance to all of these songs lol.

| I totally love the spirit of this record, still experimenting and trying to break your own boundaries after almost 40 years of making recordings. Got to love Bruce. | |

I agree. I hate that there are people out there who will leak an artists music before they intended it to be released. I also understand the anticipation involved in waiting for a new album from your favourite artist and its easy to get tempted to listen before its even released. I prefer to respect the wishes of the artist though and when I first listen to the new album it will be from the cd on release day. Im sure it is a good album and Bruce is my all time hero. But I can wait...

A track-by-track review of the new Springsteen CD:
Tuesday, February 21, 2012 Bring on your Wrecking Ball--Two weeks early!
Christmas came way early Sunday night in the form of the new Springsteen album leaking more than two weeks before its release date.
Not that I really know from Christmas, being Jewish, but it sounds better than saying Hanukkah came early. And it really was more like Christmas because I got all of the songs at once, as opposed to the E Street Radio and Backstreets.com Chinese-water-torture-Hanukkah method of playing one new song a day until the album comes out.
So a mere ten minutes after I got the first message containing the link to the album (which was AGONIZING because the little status bar SAID I only had to wait six minutes. I swear, between that and the Ticketmaster “Your wait time is 15 minutes” message, I’m going to stroke out the next time I get an inaccurate wait time for something online), I was listening to Wrecking Ball. And even though it turns out that my next door neighbor IS, in fact, alive and well (which, in his case, means angry and bitter), I cranked it. Because that’s what you do when you listen to new Bruce.
And in case you’re not tech savvy enough to have the album yet (or don’t have friends like mine who will send it to you—I won’t name names, but you know who you are, and thank you! <3), or if you’re just DYING to know my take on it because I'm the girl who literally wrote the book on being a Bruce fan, I’m going to break it down, song by song for you.
1. “We Take Care of Our Own” --THE REST IS AT LINK ABOVE . . .

| When writing the book on being a Bruce fan did it include a paragraph on listening to illegal copies of his music before he intended it to be heard. Did it include a chapter on the respect that his fans have for him? | |

| I hate leakers. No damn patience. Probably a member of the gimme generation. I hope gaslight keeps the new cd under wraps until a week before the release at THE EARLIEST. I have no problem if it is an official release from the company or artist, but when it Is a leaker. I hope his computer fries. | |

I wouldn't take quite such a harsh view where two weeks are involved. For one, the record company set the date, not Bruce. For another, some of the music has already been presented to the public at large. Lastly, loads of people have already legally heard the album for review purposes. That is not to excuse/defend the leaking, it is really just meant to address the line "before he intended it to be heard."

| It's the people who leak it to be mad at. The people who listen to it aren't the ones in the wrong, as far as I'm concerned. | |

| its growing on me , its Devils and Dust meets the sessions band , hardly an e st band album at all, Death to my hometown will become a stadium anthem . The album should have been called jack of all trades , with all the different styles on the album, like the more gospal version of Land of hope and dreams , dissapointed that wrecking ball is pretty much the same , had hoped it would be re-worked with new lyrics. Like the production on the album , all in all its way better than WOAD , but sadly its no Darkness. | |

Like the production on the album , all in all its way better than WOAD , but sadly its no Darkness. I was thinking the same thing today. Definitely sounds like an amped up D&D in a lot of spots. This record has enough great moments that I wanna to place it among his classics, but "This Depression" "Rocky Ground" and the lack of lyrical revision in Wrecking Ball just drags it down a little too much for me. A damn fine effort nonetheless though.
