"show up early" is an euphemism.

Indeed! What a show! Take that all the other stadium acts! Didnt paly any of what I wished, but I dont care. He played full hour after he should have stopped legally. Take that English police ! Finnish police said "No complaints have come to our knowledge". Who the hell would even complain to the Boss...

Great video of the Drive All Night performance from Gothenburg #1 posted on Bruce's official site. Looks great in HD too.
All those lights held up are very Coldplay but it was really cool and seemed to happen spontaenously.

Have you guys heard this cover of Atlantic City?? I'm kinda in love with it.
That's pretty good, reminds me of The Hold Steady's cover from a few year's back (I prefer The Hold Steady's):

I have the Hold Steady's version on my ipod, it's great! I think I like Ben Harper's version a bit better only because of the vocals. I like the Hold Steady but I really have a hard time listening to them because I hate the lead singer's voice. But that's totally a personal preference thing and I have nothing but respect for them.

Woah, you're right he does sound like that guy! I think his voice is very unique, which is cool. I just think you either love it or you hate it. I'm very much a voice person when it comes to music and I tend to gravitate toward a specific type more than anything. There's a reason Bruce, Brian, and Chuck are 3 of my favorite vocalists, haha.

haha im glad others can see it too!!! i think thats what sold me striaght awaylol they are great vocalists with something in common with their voices! yeah alot of people dont like the hold steady becuase of craigs voice. unfortunately it seems like marmite for some people. I clicked with it first time but some friends not so much.

I think its just you two! I'm a big Hold Steady/Craig Finn fan and never thought he sounded like Randy Newman before - that's gotta be the most random comparison ever!
Its definitely a marmite thing - most of the people I've played THS to won't give them the time of day because they can't get past his vocals. Personally, I can't imagine the songs sung in any voice but Craig's - it fits his songwriting really well I think.
In fact, has anyone heard/seen a cover of a Hold Steady song by a decent singer? That might be interesting.

Randy Newman's great. He does kinda look a bit like Craig Finn actually. Must be the big glasses.
I always want to sing this to people at gigs who tell me I'm too tall:

Bonus Tracks: Bruuuuuuuuce! By LIZZY GOODMAN
This summer, Lizzy Goodman wrote about the New Jersey band the Gaslight Anthem. Her article highlighted the Gaslight Anthem’s anxiety — if you can call it that — of being seen as the heirs to Bruce Springsteen’s legacy. Last weekend, she got to see the real thing. Her dispatch from the floor seats follows.
Bruce Springsteen has been on my mind a lot lately. Between Jeffrey Goldberg’s delightful Atlantic piece on the New Jersey governor Chris Christie’s Boss obsession, David Remnick’s New Yorker opus and the slew of conversations I’ve had with critics and friends about those pieces, I showed up at the Phillies’ stadium Sunday night as intellectually primed to see a rock show as I’ve ever been.

Was in the pit for both shows this weekend at Wrigley. Seeing Eddie Vedder and Bruce duet on Atlantic City, My Hometown and Darkness on the Edge of Town is something I'll never forget. Wow.
