Eh, Bosstones' earlier albums are more towards the middle, I think.

The Bosstones did get together in 85, but there in my opinion they are not even on the same scale as Operation Ivy! That said, I really do like the MMBT

As far as punk music goes.

I would say the most 'revolutionary' are:

1. The Clash/The Ramones
2. Nirvana
3. Minor Threat
4. Operation Ivy/Rancid
5. The Dead Kennedys

I think if people are saying The Clash, then you have to include the Pistols.
Beofre they came around Joe Strummer was in a pub rock band The 101'ers, Pistols supported them and Joe realised this was something better than anything before

I was going to mention them. They are one of the 3 punk giants, but I didnt want to have 3 bands sharing one spot, so I just went with the 2 I felt have had the biggest influence.

Yes. Nirvana were a punk band that got big and got tagged with the "grunge" label.

And Im pretty sure that their influence was immense.

I could be wrong though.
But Im not!

For me...Nirvana were definitely a punk band. Who invented this stupid term "grunge"!?

And it's very easy nowadays to say they are overrated...maybe it could have been another band and they were just at the right time at the right place.

But their impact and influence is soooo huge!!

Itch from The King Blues said a poem he wrote yesterday at the gig, and it was fucking brilliant. It was all about the power punk has etc.

He highlighted that Sham 69 would have been better had they ACTUALLY united the kids, and Crass could of made a bigger difference if they talked about things other than wealth

see because of that, theyre so appealing to me.
im not considered lower class on the social scale, but it seems like i am.
i go to a primarily white school where a good amount of kids are incredibly wealthy, spoiled rotten peices of shit.

my mom was telling me about a party that a family we 'know' threw (one of their kids is on my little brother's baseball team).
apparently they had a very large in-ground swimming pool that when you pushed a button, a plexiglass cover slides out and the pool becomes a dance floor.
this family also owns 7 cars.
this family also owns several restaraunts in the area, and used to own a series of movie rental franchises.
this family also built a 4-room treehouse for their kids with internet, phone, air/heat, etc.

thats an abuse of resources in my book.

By listening to crass, i learned that this is wrong.

People buy this stupid shit, and then complain when they have to pay taxes on their stupid shit.

Its GREED.

Before i started listening to punk rock, i wanted to be a pharmacist because of the money.
i had no attraction to the medical field, other than the fact that i was going to makes shitloads of money.
i didnt even realize that its the most boring fucking job possible.
its all calculations and measurements.
plus, your given so much responsibility and liability.

i know it sounds cheesy, but i realized there has to be something more to life than money.
im not really sure what it is, but im looking.

I think it's caring for others, not to sound cheesy, and doing what you love in life regardless of what people think or society expects of you.
you just need to do what you want and fuck trying to look good with material possessions.
I mean, I'm not saying you should be homeless and smell like rotten milk, but let what you want to do in life guide you to what you want to do.

also, I'm from an upper/middle class family, so I see the greed you speak of very often. my own dad is often talking about all this useless shit he wants to buy. I've always thought that I didn't fit in with my peers because of that.
