Another film I remember thinking was super romantic was Punch Drunk Love. Though I'll have to watch it again to see why I thought it was so great.
Speaking of Adam Sandler- The Wedding Singer is a favorite rom-com.
Somewhat on topic... the waiter at dinner tonight was quite good looking. As my friend put it he was "Like Justin Timberlake. But hot."
did you tell him his tip was in your pants? that's what i'd have done!
Wedding Singer is so good! plus it has BILLY IDOL
i love that movie. drew barrymor(e) is really cute in it.
and steph that line doesn't work. trust me
It works for girls. It's not even remotely fair.

It's the greatest movie in the world but it's hardly romantic.
Could watch it 500000 times and still feel a delighted as the first time. It makes me feel good, which is weird.

Yes, me too, I've seen it more times than I remember, but it's still not romantic!

Somehow I feel empty after seeing it. Anywhere, we're getting of topic here!

YESSSS
Couples that are not dramatic make me happy.
And the ending was total perfection and makes me want a house in Charleston. And also find me a John Krasinski to go with it.
I love maya rudolph

Random question, one that is partly linked to myself: do you guys believe in some sort of kryptonite? I.e., a person of whom you know that he or she will never be any good for you, somebody that will always remain some sort of "bad news" for you (or at least somebody that will remain to give you a kind of uncomfortable feeling, one that you can't rationally explain - mostly because of things that happened in the past - even though "on paper" you're getting on pretty well at the moment). And that no matter how much time passes, that feeling never goes away (even though it gets better, it never completely disappears) ? And are there ways to live with that, or will that remain a nuisance, an empty spot, forever?
Sorry if I'm being a bit vague, but I guess you know what I mean?

From personal experience, probably depending on what the 'bad news' is connected to, it is likely that it will not go away, especially if you don't deal with whatever it is.

Just looked at some dating profiles out of curiosity. Everyone has a "warped" sense of humor, puts up awful quality photos, and says way too much about themselves for me to want to read any more. I even checked out what some of the girls were writing and one described herself as "an asshole". What? Would a guy really write to someone who wrote that?! Yeah so, never mind all that. Ick.
I agree with what Holland said. From what you said, this is a dead end. Nerves about hoping things continuing to go well is one thing, but sick-to-your-stomach anxiety is another. Don't ignore your gut feeling.

The fact that this thread went 4 days without a new post is probably the greatest accomplishment in the history of this forum.

Really contemplating the future with my current gf. I already know she isn't perfect for me and we have our issues, but we're generally happy together. But knowing that one can do better makes the future look bleak. I also don't like the idea of stringing someone along when you know you're not 100% content with them, it's cruel to lead them on knowing you're not in it for the long term. I feel incredibly guilty that I'm doing this even though I know I'm not in it for the long term. But it's only been about 4 months, so I guess it's not that serious yet. An impending issue is that I graduate in a few months, and she's in her first year of university, so no matter what happens, we're at entirely different positions in our lives.
I actually look forward to being single again. No responsibility, commitment; more free time, money to save, and going after whatever girl I want to is always fun and liberating.

Yeah... there's not much contemplating. Sounds like you've already made your decision. And now that we know you don't want to be with her and are stringing her along, we're all about to turn on you. So hurry up and break up!

Well it happened again. Girl I like, she does not want a relationship with me. I officially give up now, I am going to end up single for the rest of my life at this rate. probably my face is to blame, or my weight, or my lack of humor, or my inability to make conversation. Perhaps it is the fact, I like stuff that no one my age does (NASCAR, trains, I hate rap and most of the top 40, I dislike Football, I like Rock and Roll, I like The Gaslight Anthem which no one else around me does. etc).
