| I think the romantic aspect of Almost Famous is that William falls in love with Penny Lane. He sees her for who she is, not just the character she plays for the guys and the rest of the Band Aids. And he saves her life! Best movie ever! | |

Exactly. While Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters, sons of bankers, sons of lawyers, turn around and say good morning to the night...

A truly magnificent film, but would you really call it romantic in nature? Same goes for Into The Wild: one of my favourites, but how the hell is that a romantic film? *edit: just read the clarification on Almost Famous, and yeah, makes sense. Must see that one again very soon, incredible movie. Same goes for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind btw: what a story, what an atmosphere, and what a soundtrack!! I agree with NeverTrustAJunkie on Love Actually though! Especially the bits with Liam Neeson and his stepson, all those scenes kind of capture the essence of love imho.. Daniel: So what's the problem, Sammy-o? Is it just Mum, or is it something else? Maybe... school - are you being bullied? Or is it something worse? Can you give me any clues at all? Sam: You really want to know? Daniel: I really want to know. Sam: Even though you won't be able to do anything to help? Daniel: Even if that's the case, yeah. Sam: Okay. Well, the truth is... actually... I'm in love. Daniel: Sorry? Sam: I know I should be thinking about Mum all the time, and I am. But the truth is, I'm in love and I was before she died, and there's nothing I can do about it. Daniel: [laughs] Aren't you a bit young to be in love? Sam: No. Daniel: Oh, well, okay... right. Well, I mean, I'm a little relieved. Sam: Why? Daniel: Well, because I thought it would be something worse. Sam: [incredulous] Worse than the total agony of being in love? Daniel: Oh. No, you're right. Yeah, total agony. Don't know why, but that one truly makes sense to me.

I was going to say- did this thread just instant replay? Another film I remember thinking was super romantic was Punch Drunk Love. Though I'll have to watch it again to see why I thought it was so great. Speaking of Adam Sandler- The Wedding Singer is a favorite rom-com. Somewhat on topic... the waiter at dinner tonight was quite good looking. As my friend put it he was "Like Justin Timberlake. But hot."

YESSSS Couples that are not dramatic make me happy. And the ending was total perfection and makes me want a house in Charleston. And also find me a John Krasinski to go with it.
