I thought Harbortown gave you some pretty good feedback,i do a lot of 'feeding-back' at Uni so i try to avoid being too critical on here, but i will add as you asked. I first of all would agree that it is your best one so far, if i was playing it just on acoustic i would mess around with dynamics a bit more, make the quieter bits quieter and when you want to play and sing more aggressively do it with conviction!!!

It could be argued that the song isn't in the right key for your voice, don't feel like you have to play it in the same key as Gaslight because Brian has one voice and you have another. I used to play Dashboard Confessional songs when i was younger and he has such a high voice and i was destroying my throat trying to sing like that (embarrassing fact i know), its very counterproductive doing that.

Also try to focus on your right hand whilst playing, there are some sections in which the rhythm is tight but in others it goes astray a bit.

Have you gotten over not listening back to yourself yet?

I think you need to learn simple up and down strumming, Jimmy. It's pretty astounding that you've been playing for 10 years and you still seem to be doing kind of a down-down-down pattern instead of down-up-down.

That would help a lot.

I've been working on this one since...Probably August last year. That's not to say that it's an AMAZING work of art, I've just been kinda lazy and then my old microphone broke down and whatever. So yeah I used different microphones for the vocals and you can probably tell.

Anyway, it's been fun recording. I had a friend do some backing vocals on the "Do you miss her?" part at the end. Enjoy!

It was great. Definitely doesn't sound like it was pieced together over a few months or anything. I liked it a lot. The piano was a nice touch.

Great quality and production, all around excellent cover.

Only advice I had was to elongate the vowels in "words" and "worse", they seemed to end abruptly.

What do you use to record/what's your setup? It's very nice...

Nice job, Jimmy! Very Happy The guitar sounded good and you were more energetic with this song, which was great, but there were times when your voice got drowned out and it was hard to hear you. That could just be my computer though...
