| this is something i just did. i'm not too great at the whole music thing; i look kinda awkward, but i love doing it and i'm trying to get better at it. any constructive criticism from the many great musicians around here is appreciated https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FF9TNNNGJOU&feature=youtu.be | |

Your guitar playing is great, it remains steady and even throughout the song. I like your voice, maybe you could try climbing up and down the vocal scale a little bit and not just stay in the same range the entire time, but I liked it. Well done. Anyway, here's my own cover of Bad Religion's Sorrow. It's one of my all time favorite songs and I've been meaning to make a folk cover of a BR song for years now, and I felt like I have the means to do it now, so here it is. https://youtu.be/KAPFRSnzWU4

| Aah. Back when I was in high school I was in this band:
http://www.myspace.com/amongthedust
I was the "singer". Basically screamed until my throat was all fucked up and since then it's been like that. Other people achieve it by drinking tons of whiskey and smoking, but I don't like that! Not that I was trying to get a hoarse voice or anything. Sometimes I don't like it.

[url=https://youtu.be/KAPFRSnzWU4 https://youtu.be/KAPFRSnzWU4[/quote[/url]] Wow, John, that was a great song! Very impressive! I also really like the raspy quality that your voice has. It gives your music different layers that a lot of artists don't have. Nice job!

A song I have been working on learning for a little while...How do yo guys think it sounds? That was really good! I had never made the connection before, but you kind of sound like Gordon Lightfoot. I really like this type of singer-songwriter music for you. I think it suits your voice very well. Very nice!

A song I have been working on learning for a little while...How do yo guys think it sounds? This is one of my favorite songs ever, and I'm glad to be able to say you didn't butcher it completely. You got the chord progression right and you hit the notes like you should, I guess this is the music you should be playing, folk, kinda.

Well that's certainly up for debate, as you kinda messed up the last few Gaslight covers.
