In the beginning I thought it was "diamonds and nitrous". With a connection to all them car stories. Obivously... It's wrong!
"We were diamond sinatras."
At least, according to the album booklet.

I thought it was Boardwalk Talk, but then I doubted myself after your post and a couple of online sites had "boy won't talk" and I thought Hmmm, I've been wrong all this time. But i guess the consensus is "Boardwalk Talk". I like that better.

A few months ago, when I was trying to find out the lyrics of 1930 (great song, especially acoustic) I found two versions, which are a little different. One of these has been mis-heard at some parts.
in here's looking at you kid, i always thought he said, "you remind nana...instead of anna...like grandma, nana..i was like wtf what does his nana have to do with this song" lol so sad
IT IS NOT NANA?!!???!! i always thought it was. because it's saying grandmothers worry, and she would ask about him. i guess not.

In "Myles Davis and the cool" I always thought the line "Like poor mister pitiful" was "My apartment is pitiful", way off! There's definitely more, just can't think of them at the min

I've looked anywhere, but haven't been able to find the thread again (sorry admin).
Anyways, On Old White Lincoln (first Gaslight song I heard) I understood "You and your high-top sneakers and your seven tattoos"
Weird, but I guess because I had no idea what Brian looked like, and what the bands vibe was, I couldn't really work it out.
I only figured it out a year after I heard the song once I got it on Vinyl and listened to it whilst reading the lyrics.

"Who, who, who do does it better than we do, them sopranos in Amy Diamonds choir"
Amy Diamond is a "child star" from Sweden. Even after so many times listening to it I can't shake it outta my head.

Haha! I could totally see that. Surprised that I've never thought about that before. Also glad that I never did, feels like picturing Amy Diamond' s choir would ruin the song a bit.
