Hey hey, Johnny Boy! I'm doing swimmingly. I'm currently sitting in the sunshine listening to birds chirp like a little hippie. How's life in Sweden?

What a crappy day. Tom Petty died. In addition to the vegas shooting, what a miserable day.

Yup.
Tom Petty dying was a fucking bummer. Bowie, Lemmy, Prince, their deaths are truly unfortunate but Tom Petty being gone really, REALLY bums me out, man. He was the soundtrack to my California days and was such a legend. He will be missed.
And yes of course, then there's the Las Vegas shooting. Sad thing is, it barely even registered with me. That's how used I'm getting to US mass shootings. And not even now will gun lobbyists and advocates start thinking about maybe tightening gun control laws and regulations.
THE ONLY THING STOPPING A BAD GUY WITH A GUN IS A GOOD GUY WITH A GUN!!!!! What if hundreds of people at the concert carried guns and started randomly shooting at the hotel? How would have that worked out? Ugh.

I'm kinda under the weather at the moment, been sneezing and coughing for the better part of the week. However, overall, I'm doing pretty sweet.
Got myself a 9 to 5 job half a year ago, fell in love hard with a colleague (never a good idea), she felt the same way (never a good idea), so we've been secretly 'dating' (never a good idea) over the last couple of months. Feels goooooood. Haven't touched my guitar in a while though.
Just got my tickets for Brian's Amsterdam show in March and just gave Forget Me Not a first listen. Good, good stuff.
I'll be sending over all of my good vibes in the general direction of Pennsylvania!

Got really terrible news today. These guys made me feel a little better, as does knowing I'm gonna see the big man in person on Sunday.

So I'm currently in school to get my teacher's education. One of the subjects I'll teach is English, so for the first big essay we're writing, I've chosen to write a literature essay on Great expectations. Hopefully it'll be an interesting read. The book that is.

It's not. Dickens was paid by the word and most of it is unnecessary.

I'm a few pages in and there's a lot of word puking for sure. Some of it I really enjoy because I often do that kinda thing myself, some of it I find tedious. We'll see.

Job hunting is difficult. I've been trying to get ANYTHING to get out of my 7.55 an hour part time job, but it's all been nothing but rejection.

What skills do you have? Education level? Experience?
Need to highlight your key points on your resume and don't be afraid to apply for jobs you might not be qualified for - as you never know what relationships you can strike up.

Ahh sweet!
You definitely need to check out Gamla stan, old town. Parts of it are sadly clogged to hell with tacky tourist shops, but spend some time walking around and you'll find plenty of gorgeous houses, streets, alleyways and what have you. I suggest you check out Monteliusvägen, which is a boardwalk located at the top of a cliff, so you'll be overlooking Stockholm and the water.
If you're into museums, I suggest you check out either (or all) of these: Naturhistoriska museet - Natural history, animals, geology and all of that, it's got an IMAX movie theater Historiska museet - Just history. Plenty of artefacts from Swedish history dating back thousands of years ago Armémuseum - Military history. Fascinating if you're into that kinda stuff. Livrustkammaren - Contains some of the very clothes and weaponry used by legendary Swedish warrior kings! These are only a few. Oh I forgot Fotografiska museet, the museum of photography. It's amazing, just like the ones mentioned above.
If you get hungry there are plenty of great places to go, but you HAVE TO go to a hotdog stand named Gunters korvar. I swear to God, you will thank me once you've been there. The line is a bit long sometimes but trust me, it's worth it.
