ARRGH. I have to order "Get hurt" from Amazon since my local walmart doesn't carry it. They have no taste in music.

1. While I hate everything that Wal-Mart stands for, them not carrying Get Hurt is not one of the reasons. You have to realize the simple logistics of running a brick and mortar store in the age where people can order something online and have it show up the next day. Wal-mart's stores have a finite amount of space, and they're not going to waste their precious shelf space on CD's/Albums that likely won't sell.
2. Not to sound too preachy, but why not find a local mom and pop record store and support a local business by buying from them?

Sadly, the closest one is probably the other side of Pittsburgh, if that. Trust me, I hate Walmart with a burning passion, but it is the only brick and mortar store around me that sells CDs.

Weird. My local Wally's was filled with both standard and deluxe versions of the album.

You'd think they'd be in stock after that whole walmart soundcheck session

Mine doesn't have gold music either, but they have some decent stuff from Get Hurt to Jack White to The Black Keys to Queens of the Stone Age. Usually stuff I already own, but at least its there for others to pick up.
Acoustic record from the lead singer of Captain, We're Sinking, who also happens to be the brother of one of the front men of the Menzingers, Greg Barnett.
Anywho, it's damn beautiful.

did no one post the article Benny wrote for Rolling Stone? I haven't been on much lately if someone already has. http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/news/rutgers-football-gives-the-gaslight-anthem-scarlet-fever-20140826
The Cure were cool to see, but honestly not the greatest live performance.
Lucero put on a hell of a show, know how to please the crowd. Ben Nichols is a funny dude.
PuP are a little Toronto based band that plays some pretty aggressive punk, the local crowd loved em. Actually the second time I saw them, they opened for Menzingers, and I bought the record the next day. Good stuff.
The Hotelier are probably my favourite band right now, and seeing them was a truly amazing experience. Ended up meeting the singer about 20 minutes later, and I'll probably never forget that moment.
The National. GOD DAMN. Matt is an absolute beast live. So deep into the performance, I respect the hell out of the guy. Love this band to death and so glad I finally got to see them. Their live shows are spectacular.
We were going to go see Brand New, and 'The Devil and God...' is one of my favourite albums of all time, but we decided to get drunk in the hotel instead. Ah well.

I am planning to go to Japan and Australia and New Zealand after my university studies before I will go working....but the problem is that in Australia I can almost only rent a car when I am 25 (because of the international driver licence), but after my studies I am 24 -.-
