A forum dedicated to The Gaslight Anthem - Brian Fallon says: ''For consistent and up to the minute stuff, Dimestore Saints is a great place to check out and hang with some really nice people.''
I just watched the Place Beyond the Pines. Gonna be thinking about it a lot. Fuck
Oh man, Pines was good.
Gosling is another fantastic actor.
the film is really amazing!!!
I like Gosling, but his last movies seems to be "trash"....
Yeah, Only God Forgives and Gangster Squad, haven't checked either but I don't hear good things.
Pines and Drive were phenomenal, and Crazy, Stupid, Love. was actually really good for the genre it's in.
Lars and the Real Girl was....interesting.
Haha, definitely just has an uncomfortable feeling to it.

Anyone here from NYC? How safe is it to get the L train back to Manhattan from Brooklyn by yourself at night after a show at Rough Trade?
I ask because of Chuck Ragan reasons.
Chuck Ragan reasons are the best kind of reasons...
Not from NYC but I did that just last week and felt safe. I'm sure there'll be other people there going back to Manhattan, just walk with them to be extra safe? It's a gentrified area though, and rough trade is max 10 minutes away from the subway.
And Bedford should be busy on a Saturday night.
Have fun!
Fiiiine twist my arm, I guess I will get a ticket then
And chiming in on this Gosling debate, Drive all the way.

God damn Breaking Bad is overrated.
You what now?
Son it might not be the most exciting in terms of action and whatnot but my god, the acting and writing is some of the best that's ever been out there. It still breaks my heart to think about what went down in that show.
There are some fantastic monologues and moments, but they're too far and few between, and I hate how formulaic it feels. I really don't think it's that well written or even shot for that matter.
I will definitely agree the performances from the two leads are outstanding.
It's a good show, but nothing great, and certainly nothing spectacular.
In the end it's obviously all subjective, but I consider Mad Men, and (although it's basically just a mini-series) True Detective, to be top tier television.
Yup, we can't all love the same thing.
I watched maybe three seasons of Mad Men and I thought it was great, but somewhere along the way I just got really tired of Don cheating on his wife every damn episode. I've also been meaning to get into True Detective, I watched the first episode and man those guys can act.
I hated Mcconaughey until True Detective.
Unbelievable performance.
How did you hate him in Dazed & Confused? That was his best role
Hahaha, his performance as Wooderson was the only thing I liked about him. Some band made a song named after him but I can't remember who.
wait...just to be clear: Wooderson was named after this funny cowboy lad in Dazed & Confused?
Oh and i didn't know this was the same actor who played an outstanding performance in Dallas Buyers Club
Both awesome Films, thought!
Drive is pretty intense, too
