nice videos, they sound real good on Baba O'Riley. Band sounds pretty tight.

No idea if this is an accurate Setlist but looks like they changed things up a bit for night 2.

Like both setlists so far but was hoping for just a little but more of a mix up. Won't freak out yet though it's only 2 nights in.

Sound-wise the band sounded just as good as night one. The crowd was way livelier last night (and probably a bit younger). I think that might just be the nature of it being Thursday night vs Wednesday night, but the crowd was definitely moving around more and much louder. Also, Brian was in a supremely goofy mood. He told some long story about getting his tooth pulled in Germany and in the break right before the end of Church Street he started "hitting on" Alex R. It was pretty damn entertaining. It was great to see him like that.

The setlists were pretty similar, but I probably preferred night two because I love Old Haunts and Handwritten. Against Me!'s setlist was also better for night two. It was slightly more balanced with all their material.

So now according to TGA's website, twopointeight is also playing the PNC show.

So we're talking twopointeight, Against Me, Jimmy Eat World, and TGA? Really only want to see Jimmy & TGA - don't care about other two.

I do like some Against ME songs. But no desire to see twopointeight. Wonder how long they'll play for. May just show up late.

Also - show starts at 7 so have to guess Gaslight doesn't go on until 9:30ish, huh?

twopointeight: 30 minuts
Against Me: 30 minutes
Jimmy Eat World: 60 minutes
TGA: 90 minutes

Seem about right?

holy crap (not in a good way) I just came here to see if anyone was taking a stab at set times - 3 opening bands, ouch that's horrible.  I have a hard time with 2.

Are the doors at 7 or is that the time show begins?  Considering there are 4 bands I am guessing doors are at 6.  Have myself prepare that this will be the worst Gaslight Anthem show experience of all time, so may be I walk out suprised if nothing else.

figuring music is between 7-11, here's a guess.

twopointeight: 30 minuts 7-7:30 (30)
Against Me: 30 minutes 7:45-8:15 (30)
Jimmy Eat World: 60 minutes 8:30-9:15 (45)
TGA: 90 minutes 9:45-11:00 (75)

I would be extremely disappointed if Gaslight played less than 90 minutes.

Maybe twopointeight plays like 15-20 minutes? If you're the first of 4 bands that would seem appropriate to me to be honest.

Trying to sell 17500 plus 10000 lawn seats is ambitious, even in nj. I am not sure, but I think the biggest place that they have played before pnc was radio city, which holds 6000 total. They are now trying to sell more than four times that amount of tickets, at much higher prices. In my opinion, they would have been better off finding a place that holds somewhere around 10000 max. It's never good to play to empty seats. There should be a certain degree of difficulty to get tickets. The Rutgers athletic center holds 8000, the sun national bank center in Trenton holds 8600. I think either of those places would have sold out easily.

PNC is 17,500 total, with the seated area holding ~7,000; but your point is still made.

that is my understanding too but the venue website says it's 27,000 total.

this is from their website:

"Seating capacity is an impressive 17,500 with a lawn area, that can accommodate a further 10,500!"

"The PNC Bank Arts Center is a modern amphitheatre located in Holmdel Township, New Jersey, USA. About 17,500 people can occupy the amphitheater; there are 7,000 seats and the grass area can hold about 10,500 people."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PNC_Bank_Arts_Center

And yes, 17,500 is a lot for them. I think it's actually likely they sold a pretty good chunk of tickets but that a very high percentage of them were on the lawn. Feels like they may have a lot of younger fans who didn't want to pay a slightly higher price for a better spot (and/or have the weird hatred of chairs I've seen some people here note).

Personally, I'm stoked. 2nd row tickets will be the closest I've ever been from them, and there's no chance someone kicks me in the head while crowd surfing or invades my dancing space with a mosh pit.

I'm a bit concerned about the set length with four bands, although it's possible two point eight is playing early on a side stage. I'd be a little annoyed at a less than 90 minute set given the ticket prices.

They played for two hours the last time they played convention hall. There were two openers for that show. I would love it if they play two hours again, especially now that I have a seat.

Thank you for sharing the set lists!

Glad they played Have Mercy both nights, makes me hopeful that they will work that song into most of the shows, and I'd love to hear that one live! Bummed there's no Selected Poems or Halloween on either set though.

I couldn't help but notice that Break Your Heart sorta replaces Here's Lookin' ...kinda sad, since that always seemed like such a staple track for them, but I get it.

if one of you guys want, you can count all the seats on that diagram Wink

Anyhow, yes it's 17,500 total - 7,000 in the seats.

this pic puts that into perspective

US/Canada Tour 2014 - Page 10 Untitl10" />

to the point though, I think it was discussed earlier in this thread, but holding this show in September at a venue of this size when you have a decent amount of fans in their early 20s who are away at college is kind of tough.  not to mention the ludicrous $90 ticket prices.  Maybe they will have a decent "walk-up" crowd since everyone knows tickets are widely available by looking on Live Nations seating chart.  who knows.

It's always quiet song right before the end, then loud closer. Here's Lookin' has been in that spot, but so has Blue Jeans (and Queens of Lower Chelsea a little). A little bummed to see The Backseat is out as the show closer, but Dark Places is a nice way to close a show, I'm guessing.

Yeah, maybe I'm odd, but Dark Places sort of reminds me of The Backseat.

I'm hearing they did a few acoustic tunes in the set tonight in Philly.

Benny had an emergency and missed the show. The drummer from Against Me filled in for the first 12 or so songs and the rest of the show was acoustic. I don't remember the exact order but the acoustic tuns were Dark Places, Have Mercy, High Lonesome, She Loves you, Blue Jeans and 1930. May have missed a few.

Atom Willard stepping up was pretty fucking awesome and he did a good job for the most part aside from really borking American Slang and Stray Paper.

Sort of bummed though for selfish reasons, was really hoping to hear 1,000 Years and Underneath the Ground but I hope all is well on Benny's side of things.

If anything it was all worth it to hear 1930 acoustic.
