2014 new Gaslight Anthem album news (pre-details)

i think im gonna like this album cuz i tend to like albums with a real sense of purpose behind them, like the band really gets into the songs so much that it changes the direction of the band. kinda like american idiot or some album that reinvigorates what they love about playing together. SO MUCH SPECULATION

Great news. The lead single can't be far from getting its radio premiere. We heard "45" just over 2 months after they had finished recording Handwritten.

I'm sure the band is eager to share some music and more info about the album.I'd imagine the label wants to lock in some dates. Hope Brian's able to give us lots of cool info about the album when replies to our questions and I don't think a single of some sort will be too far behind.

Listening to a record to GET HURT by. Good stuff as to be expected. Huge amount of work coming in three months from it. Been too long.


Get Hurt has gotta be something...and three months suggests September...

Someone immediately asked about it being Gaslight, and the question (not Jeff's post) seems to have disappeared. I tried to post and it wouldn't let me. Guarantee it's the new Gaslight, though.

I was the one who asked, and I shared it to my timeline. Now it's completely gone, from both my timeline and theirs. Still, "Get Hurt" must be the new single or album.

They probably took it down because that post combined with that other person's tweet made it way too obvious that this is either a track or possibly the title of the new album. And Mercury would not be happy if that accidentally got out ahead of time.

I figured that was why. And at least we'll get some confirmation in the coming weeks!  

I hope their is a behind the scenes into the making of the new album, like their was for The 59 Sound, American Slang, and Handwritten. I am so excited for this album to come out and this time I am going to the store and buying the album. The last 3 albums, 59 Sound, Slang, and Handwritten were all downloaded off of iTunes my dad downloaded them quickly before I had the chance to go out and get one of them on cd. I'm not listening to a album stream or single at all this time I did that with slang and Handwritten, I want to have the album and then listen to it to be fully surprised and amazed by it.

That Rockets are Red post said 3 months from now in that Get Hurt post, right? Now they've announced three dates in that month. My money is on release date being Sept. 12 16 or 17.

I said that last time too but then when they started streaming the whole thing, I just hated being out of the loop while everyone was having their initial reactions to it so I gave in. I'm gonna avoid any 90 second teases this time though. That was not a good move last time for me to to watch that making of thing ahead of time. I hope they do something like that again though!

I am going to resist the temptation to listen to anything from Gaslight like streams or snippets of new songs, until I have the new album in my possession, I ruined my listening experience the last time with Handwritten and American Slang before that. Listening to the album stream or a first single will bother me I want to let the album on my first listen pull me in and surprise me, plus if you thing about it its really not that long of a wait we are half way through June, the album will be here before we know it. I have waited longer for other albums to come out like Against Me's new album Transgender Disphoria Blues, or Rise Against's Endgame, Green Day and the four and half year wait until 21st Century Breakdown came out.

The post means something how could it not, I went on their site and saw the same thing, can't wait to get more information about the upcoming album.

I wonder how much the new album will remind people of Sink or Swim Brian said in the Rolling Stone interview back in May that the new record will remind people of Sink or Swim, he said that the last time with Handwritten, sounding like Senor and the queen, The 59 Sound, and Sink or Swim. The only songs that reminds me of Sink or Swim on Handwritten are Howl, and Desire. The title track reminds me of The 59 Sound sonically. Its going to be interesting this time around to see what the band have in store for us fans

Personally I would like them to explore more of a Sink or Swim feeling on this new record even though I like everything the band has done, it doesn't bother me if they switch things up this time around either. Their most raw loud and fast album is Sink or Swim, they haven't made a record to match it in terms of aggression and just all out fast music. It would be cool to hear Sink or Swim part 2 in some of these new songs.

Since albums are released on Tuesdays in the US, something like Sept 2/9/16 would make sense. I can't imagine them playing too many shows without the record being out though.

They did an entire US tour over the space of like a month leading up to Handwritten's release! The album release show was the last day of the tour.

However, my money is on the 9th too, since the big show Zach is talking about is supposedly on the 13th, that Saturday. If they're looking to draw the biggest possible crowd it makes sense to put the show on a Saturday as close to (but after) the album release as possible.

i'll put down four dollars on sept16th

Yeah I feel like it should definitely be today if there is a pre-order on Tuesday, so they have time to get the orders in and sort access. This day is gonna drag though as I assume they would do it on US time and right now it's 4am there.
