2014 new Gaslight Anthem album news (pre-details)

Probably not the title but probably going to be the big "concept" they talk about when discussing the recording process. I remember a little while back one of the guys, I think it was Brian, said they used the studio as an instrument or a tool to get the most out of these songs instead of just a place to record. So I reckon just as they talked up a lot about handwritten lyrics and personal stories in their Handwritten behind the scenes footage, they will talk about using the studio in the behind the scenes stuff leading up to this new record.

That's a good point. It MUST have to do with the album, as they've been out of the studio for how long now? It's a little late for saying "we're 'in the studio'"

Their site is one of my home pages so I would have seen it.   
I also thought about why they hadn't changed that page in a while then looked at it and it was changed. It was pretty weird.

That color of red hurts my eyes. I would like to see a more interesting cover this time around; I love Handwritten but the cover was kind of bland and didn't seem to fit in with the tone of the album. I had envisioned a simple cover that was actually handwritten or hand-drawn.

The change in backround is most likely related to their homepage eventually changing soon to incorporate the new upcoming album. I don't think that it is going to be the title of the new record at all. It's a cool backround I like it, hopefully some news about the album comes out soon, the handwritten theme on their page is old and outdated its been almost 2 years since that record has been out.

I agree they have to make a better album cover this time around for their 5th studio album, Handwritten was the most boring album cover, hopefully this new cover represents the overall theme of the new record because the Handwritten cover didn't do that at all to me.

I wonder if packages etc wll come through the 45 club this time , Handwritten was a shambles , Mercury didnt handle it very well at all.

Well the HW cover was an attempt at "introducing" the boys to all the new listeners they'd hopefully gain from the album. I don't think that's their goal this time around so I bet we'll get something much more interesting. But I agree completely about it not representing the overall theme or feel of the record.

That almost instantly made me think of Mulholland Drive, for some reason.

I am pretty sure it is a part of the lyrics

Of all the covers IMO, I like "American Slang" the best. Handwritten is my least favorite.

I'd assume that's the title.

I saw the post, I find it odd and how the band hasn't announced anything about this new album yet but someone at a radio station heard a new Gaslight Anthem song, unless the band gave it to the station and the label approved. Hopefully something is announced soon, I am getting itchy to hear the new Gaslight Anthem album.

I hope their is a song that resembles Diamond Church Street Choir, that song is awesome off of American Slang.

Bands sometimes send out singles way ahead of time. I remember a similar situation of a DJ hearing Runaways by The Killers before they had even announced the single.

the fact that people other than the band members are hearing songs off the new album is definitely a good sign. mastered and ready to go!
