Neither, it's a rehearsal. A lot of bands rent out a studio by the hour because that's where they can get the best sound to hear themselves, as well as possibly a free recording of the session.

The guys are getting some writing/demos done today!

According to this press release for the b-sides, new records recording begins in march.

Ok so they are not recording with Brendan O'Brien again as it appeared they were going to? If they are producing the new album with Mike Crossey this is really exciting news though!

Mike Crossey = really exciting. I'm guessing it'll mean something much more stripped down than we got from Brendan O'Brien.

Very surprising when you take a look at the bands he already collaborated with: Arctic Monkeys, Foals, Jake Bugg, Two Door Cinema Club, The View,... As an enthousiast of UK indie I can really appreciate this move I wonder if this will broaden their sound, would be nice.

I'm excited about Mike Crossey. It's great to see the band pushing themselves and trying something new with each record.

Well that's fantastic news. O'Brien was not a match at all IMO.

I talked to Ian for a while after the Menzingers show at the Asbury Lanes and asked him if Halloween was going to be on the record. He said they recorded a new version but he doesn't know if it's going to be released.

Words can't express how much I'm hoping for Halloween to be on this album, throw Misery in there as well and make the album follow that direction. THAT would be great!

I'd love it as a bonus track, just because I don't like previously released songs getting stuck in the middle of new albums. But I totally agree about Misery just to get that song back into the mix! Although judging by Brian's expression when it was mentioned at Crossroads, that song is gone for good
