- This is not what happened at the 45 video shoot. The 45 video shoot was publicly advertised. This was an email that was only sent to fan club members, but then some fan club members then turned around and posted it everywhere for everyone to take advantage of.
(PSA: I hope this is not a precedent for things like presale codes or other cool things, if people want to join the fan club then join it, they have told people that this is how they are going to try to do stuff for fans, it's not like you don't know that this is going to happen.)
there has to be control at this venue because the band are not in charge here and this is a theater used for a specific television production. they said 200 people. i am pretty sure they are smart enough to check that people who joined are the people who responded. i think the point of saying "this is a gift for being the first people to join the fan club" means that they are taking this seriously.
that said i would also like confirmation or not fairly soon. Well no, they only sent information about when to a limited number of people about the shoot, but people posted that info online Who were the limited people that they sent the info about the shoot? wasn't it like on their facebook?
I'm just saying it "feels" like it did with the shoot where you confirm and then it's like first come first serve.
I'm gonna get there as early as I can but I work on 18th street till 6pm so I can't exactly camp out all day. If I don't get in cuz 200 people responded before me and they all signed up for the club on day one, so be it. But if I don't get in because some jerks who didn't get the email get in some how, I'm gonna be furious. Same if anyone else is shut out because of it.
Haha "Break In"
They didn't email everyone back that emailed about the shoot. They posted an email to contact.

| Who cares how many people RSVP that weren't invited??
I could RSVP to a wedding I'm not invited to but that doesn't mean there's gonna be a place setting for me at the reception.
The 45 Club has a list of its own members guys. If someone who isn't a member RSVPs, why would you think those people will be admitted?
People getting mad about the fact that this was posted on the internet should really calm down. The 45 Club is a legit organization that knows what it's doing. If you think they're incapable of keeping track its own members it invited to an event, I'm surprised you signed up in the first place.

| Well, I signed up. It seems pretty legit from what their description. And, I'm sure they'll be working to improve it over the years just like the 10 Club has improved since it's inception.
Gotta give the boys a fair shot. Heck, they've been working hard to make good music over the years... right?

I'm assuming their fan base is going to grow exponentially, and the first year fan club 7" will definitely be a reasonably low pressing #

| Given the media that people can sign up to it now on, compared to PJ back in the day, I'm thinking it's not going to be that rare, people are signing up just for the vinyl, to flip it in time...that will kill the price. | |

| major problem with this as i see it is you will have to collect your tickets on the day when the doors open, so by the time you get your ticket everybody who was in a que behind you will be on the rail or the best spots | |

| This sounds like too much a pain in the ass to bother with...then again, nobody has received any replies yet have they? I'd expect to get some sort of response tomorrow.

I haven't heard anything. I was hoping to go, but I'd hate to drive/take a train from CT only to find out that for whatever reason I can't get in.

That also was my biggest concern. But luckily - at least for now - it was not a big problem to get tix over here. Well except for the Koko gig And I got 3 emails from Infinte Merch today: --> they changed my email address (upon my request) --> a new receipt with the right email address --> an answer to my shirt question where they asked which size I need. All mails are very short but I guess they got a lot of mails already and at least they are answering them.... I also asked if there would really be ony seating tickets available via the 45rpm club and the answer was that they will try to get the best seats. Hmmmm

| At a lot of venues, will call just means a list at the door, in which case you wouldn't be getting in any later than someone with a ticket in hand as long as you were in line. | |

That doesn't work if you want to be in the front though.

I experienced that differntly. It took them ages to find the names. Might be different in other venues, though. Still not my preferred ticket option.

| You're right, it usually does take forever. But it just holds up everyone behind in the line. Obviously lots of venues do it differently and bigger places are more likely to have a box office with a window. | |
