TGA Mixtape Club

Let's make a club here where we send each other mixtape cd's of our favorite, preferably unknown, music. You can also send mixtape cd's as zip files if you live very far from the modern world (ie, Doha, Qatar!)

From all the people interested we will gather up all your names, then randomly assign you to a person to send your mixtape to! And presto!

So ... Who is interested?

Please respect the following guidelines for the project:

• Get your cd's out within a reasonable time
  
• Post replies about your cd and what you think of it
  
• When you send your CD, post your tracklist and discuss why you have included the bands that you have on it.
  
• No Vanilla Ice tracks please ;-)

No, not all punk - I have some electro stuff I am thinking of adding, anything at all that you like, you put on ... no retreat, no regrets!

I've got my Zip file all ready!

I will do this once I finish the bloody essay on diasporic identity.

I'm in if we can have 2-ish weeks to work on it (I have two papers I'm working on that are taking up lots of my time.)

ETA: actually I probably don't need that long. But my preference is a physical CD exchange cause...I like mailing stuff. And getting stuff in the mail. It's fun.

Nice one. I love learning new instruments.

I listen to a lot of Ali Farka Toure and other west and north african music. That I said I like loads of different stuff from around the globe. I just hate that damn term 'world music.'

Just thought I cant make a physical CD or
upload to the internet (blame the uni connection) I would have to send the zip via email though that said if I remember while at home at the weekend I could upload it.

well, i was planning on doing a zip file anyway, so i could include more songs, so that shouldn't be a problem. and since you and me seem to have a pretty similar taste in music, let's try to keep it with more unknown bands, or at least bands that aren't like most of the music you listen to
