| New Song on Friday - he'll send it via the mailing list so sign up everyone and a nice writeup of his last year of touring: - Spoiler:
Hey folks,
It's been awhile since I sat down to write a "monthly" update, in fact I think the last one was in February or March when I was starting Revival Tour!
Before we go any further, there is a HUGE piece of news coming this Friday that we will hip the newsletter fans to first! Eyes peeled to your inboxes for this Friday, and if you all don't mind Tweeting and Facebooking and all that jazz to let your friends know to sign up for the mailing list, that would be really fantastic, thanks in advance!
Anyway, back to REVIVAL TOUR...What an amazing experience to be back out on Chuck Ragan's brilliant brain child, we had a blast and it was an honor to share the stage with such a wonderfully talented cast and crew. Doing a full U.S. run was a real treat for me, I've been touring a ton but not quite as much in America as I'd like, so having the opportunity to see old friends and make new ones in my own country was terrific. I flew directly from that 29 show IN A ROW run to Europe and the UK to headline some club shows and to play Groezrock and Pirate Satellite festivals. My pal Jonny Two Bags (of Social Distortion) came along to open those shows which made for a great time, and I wanted to thank everyone for all the sold out shows and great sing alongs across the pond. Europe and the UK have been so good to me, and you will be rewarded with a huge tour once the new record comes out in the autumn. Stay tuned for more on that front.
Immediately after the wild, way over capacity London show, I flew directly to Australia for a tour with my dear buds, The Gaslight Anthem. An amazing time was had, the shows were huge and we had some days off (Chuck Ragan, take note!!) to go explore the lovely country. We got to actually see a koala in the wild, which was such a trip. We ripped and romped and partied our way through Australia, so thank you to all of the Gaslight fans who turned up early to check out my music and who supported at merch, it was a real honor to be there.
From Australia I flew directly to Hawaii to play my first ever show there and spent a week hanging around, writing and trying to relax. All those shows and flights definitely were super tiring so spending a few days in paradise recharging my batteries was a welcome change of pace.
I headed out right after Hawaii to start this tour with Social Distortion that I've been on for the last month, which has been a good time for sure, getting to play with a band I've listened to since I was a teenager is a mind blowing experience. Thanks so much to them for their kindness and generosity, not to mention their model for being a great rock and roll band for so many years.
As the last show came and went, in beloved Minneapolis, it dawned on me: this is the end of the touring for Resolutions. Those 10 songs I wrote and recorded, on a break from The Loved Ones ended up turning into the last 2 years of my life. I was fortunate enough to do multiple tours of Europe, the UK, the States and Canada, got to tour Australia twice, and even played a show in Hawaii. I played sold out headlining shows, 2 Revival Tours, 3 Gaslight Anthem tours, 2 Bouncing Souls tours, a tour with Social Distortion, not to mention one offs and festivals with countless amazing bands and performers.
That said I want to thank you all for the INCREDIBLE support you've given me through this record cycle, I truly appreciate it and can't wait to share this new record with you. Friday, you'll get to hear the very first taste of that record, entitled...well, nah, tune in Friday for that news...[/color]

| I like the new song. Its kinda nothing new from Dave, but its a good song. I rarely get exited by just seeing the song titles or anything, but "Father's Son" sounds promising. Frank Turners 'Fathers Day' come to my mind which is one of my favorites from him and the lyrics kinda sum up my own teenage experiences with my father. (now days we get along quite good most of the time). So maybe thats why Im pretty curious whats Daves thoughts on this subject or something like that... |
