| all this pre-order stuff is confusing, and there are several posts about pre-orders, so forgive me if the issue has already been cleared up- but for the US, we can get the pre-order via american-slang.com, i saw the link for physical and digital copies, and while i would opt for the physical copy, it seems that the only way to get the additional acoustic version of AS, and "She Loves You," is to buy the digital copy? is that true? if so, that SUCKS. also, does "She Loves You" make anyone else think of the Beatles every time?? | |

In a recent interview, Brian said that She Loves You was going to be an Itunes exclusive b-side. So it sounds like it'll only be available if you purchase the entire album via Itunes.

| i think that really sucks...its basically requiring me to purchase the entire album twice just for one b-side? they oughta just release it as a b-side to the american slang single. | |

| Sorry...I'll buy the album, t-shirts, concert tickets etc. but I'm not gonna download from iTunes for one song.
I don't really have a problem with the way they do it though, because anyone who wants the song will get it anyways.

Had the same problem but I only tried once, will try again tomorrow. Are we getting the same(in Ireland) as the UK? The t-shirt looks ok but I think I'd prefer the poster to the badges. Looks like I'll end up buying some stuff at Hyde Park.

| I sent them an email tonight so I'll let ya know what they say when they get back to me! I might just call in to my local HMV when I'm back in Drog at the weekend and see if I could order it through them!
I'm the same as you, really want to get my hands on that poster!

| Just ordered through No Idea paying through PayPal so I'm waiting for them to get back to me. All up cost me 28 American, should be around 32-34 Aus. That's for the 180 gram black vinyl as the colours were out of stock. Don't really need the poster and t shirt and according to the Side One Dummy website you can't make international orders. Reasonably happy. | |

| Haha just went to the american-slang.com website and Aus can only pre-order the CD, WTF! and that's from JB Hi Fi. That cheered me up | |

I hope you guys realize that Apple paid Gaslight to provide iTunes-exclusive bonus tracks. They know people aren't likely going to buy the album multiple times, so they are providing incentives so that your single purchase of the album will come from iTunes instead of a physical CD or LP. And apparently, that money was worth it for Gaslight to annoy some people by making the bonus tracks less available. It's just business, on both Apple's and Gaslight's ends.

| I realize that's how it works and that's why I don't really have a problem with it. I mean it's annoying, but I'm not really complaining as much as it may seem. | |

| yeah...but there are plenty of people who prefer having a physical copy, particularly vinyl, and gaslight is aware of that...which is not to say they are at fault or anything, but knowing that fans might prefer a physical copy and not to have the decision made for them to have to purchase digital exclusively for a bonus track or two, couldn't they still have made money putting those bsides as bsides on physical copies of singles? maybe that money doesnt compare to what apple paid them, but then again, they dont seem like the kind of band that is purely motivated by money. again, not to say the band are at fault here, it is their decision, but still. | |

| Sometimes I do opt for the iTunes exclusives though. For instance the new Ozomatli album has 3 iTunes exclusive tracks. None of them actually turned out to be very good (and the album is just so-so) but it won me over.
But some bands I just care more about having physical releases than others.

| Yeah, simo, I just quoted you because it was convenient. Quoting steph probably would have been more relevant to my post. But to steph, do you really think more people buy physical singles anymore compared to buying the songs off iTunes? I feel like there's a large disparity between the two. Also, providing bonus tracks that you only get with the whole album promotes buying the entire album from iTunes as opposed to only buying a few songs off the album | |

| At the end of the day a full time independent band has to attract all available income available to them, especially with internet torrents and the such.
No doubt they know that once one person gets it from iTunes it will be available to everyone else.

| When do I have to order for it to count towards the first-week charts? Do I have to preorder or will buying it any time that week count as well? I'm gonna buy it anyways so I figure I might as well order it at the most beneficial time. | |

Something I'd also like to know. Hope my pre-order from No Idea counts.

| I'm just curious cause when Joe Pug's new record was about to come out he really stressed pre-orders and charting and I wasn't quite sure how it worked. | |

| If pre-orders don't count, that would be retarded. I would think the pre-orders would be the BULK of the album sales for certain bands. | |

| jukebox- i mean i get everything youre saying...i just feel like the people who really want the additional songs tend to be big fans of the band and thus more likely to purchase physical copies & i think they are aware that they have a large fan base who support and purchase vinyl still. however, i understand from a business standpoint, and as you pointed out, i guess it does persuade people to purchase the whole album from itunes rather than cherrypicking songs. so i get it...i still think it sucks for me personally though haha. i dont have a job and i could really use that $10 instead of spending it on another copy of a record i already have. | |

| Yeah, I feel the same way, I just don't want people to get upset at the band for doing something that makes sense for them business-wise. And thanks to the Internet, it should be pretty easy to get those bonus tracks anyway | |
