This is probably the last thing I am going to put up of my own for a long while. I plan to work on these 3 songs along with 2 more when I get home in a more band like setting and then release all 5 of the tracks together. This is just a chorus of the 4th of the 5 songs. The song is called, "Fourth of July" Everything I have put up so far of my own is just in "Testing" and trying to figure out what I want to do. I really want the 5 songs to have a different sound and feel to them.

Well basically I've always been pretty active in different online communities. Dimestore Saints, Bad Religion fan forum, Imgur, 4chan, Reddit and a whole slew of other websites. If you get attention there you should be able to get people to listen to your stuff.

Haha, I have no idea what genre that EP I am working on right now is headed toward. Some of it sounds like Rock, Punk Rock, Country. The one song I haven't released anything of(Oh, Love) sounds more like Folk Rock. I guess a variety of sounds is a good thing. Haha. This one is called "Brunette Sunshine" and I am getting a country sound from it. This is probably half of the song. I was planning on it to be quite short and the closing track of the 5 songs. Mistakes are made throughout it but its just a sample.

I would say the cheapest might be a Samson Meteor USB microphone. It's 99 bucks so technically there are cheaper microphones, but the thing about microphones is that you need a phantom power supply for them to work. The Meteor just plugs straight into your computer. I used it a while back to record my covers of Great Expectations, She loves you etc.

Anyway nice song! Why does the guitar sound weird at times, though? Are you playing some weird kind of chords or are you just hitting the wrong string sometimes? Either way I liked your song.

Here's an excerpt of a song I'm working on:
http://vocaroo.com/i/s1bUI5atgTeb

I had just about made my microphone work before I recorded this so it's very hasty and shoddy, but I wanted to record it to kinda show you guys the direction I'm taking with my solo music.

Thanks for the kind words words bro and answering my question about microphones.

I really enjoyed that short clip you put up of what direction you are heading toward with your solo stuff. Can't wait to hear the entire thing.

Well, thanks for being honest. I can't really help you with the female vocals or "cheesiness" because I love her voice and I write the way I write. But thank you for listening.

Here's a list of the main "personal music" topics.

https://thegaslightanthem.forumotion.com/t3342-post-your-band-here

https://thegaslightanthem.forumotion.com/t3900-other-covers

https://thegaslightanthem.forumotion.com/t2282-post-your-own-tga-covers-here

https://thegaslightanthem.forumotion.com/t3509-our-covers-of-the-horrible-crowes-songs

Basically what happened was for a while people used the "post your band" for all personal music - not only just for bands. The other cover threads were created around the same time more or less.

"Your music!" was an older, and arguably dead, topic that had been forgotten about (hadn't had many post either). Until it got bumped one day and everyone switched over to here. Then it turned into a general music posting topic.

- Your DSS history lesson for today Razz

So yes there are other topics and feel free to post in them still. I mean I could combine the personal music/band stuff into one "original music" topic if there really is a need for the separation of covers. What ever everyone wants.
