| Post your favorite song lyrics here and where they came from, Gaslight included. I'm not talking entire songs, I'm talking one liners, like:
"You said, 'I love you more than the stars in the sky, but your name just escapes me tonight'" - "1930" by The Gaslight Anthem
"I fell asleep most nights with your pictures right behind my eyes...your eyes" - "The Blues, Mary" by Brian Fallon
"I'm not leaving this place unless I'm leaving with you, 'cause you're the only person with a half-decent heart here, and I know you will put it to use 'til it's gone" - "The Big Sleep" by Streetlight Manifesto
"Annie says, 'The saddest day I came across was when I learned that life goes on without me'" - "A Better Place, a Better Time" by Streetlight Manifesto
"And I got nothin' for you darlin' but a story to tell about the rain on the pavement and the sound as it fell" - "Wherefore Art Thou, Elvis?" by The Gaslight Anthem
"I lean on you sometimes just to see you're still there. Your feet can't take the weight of one, much less two; we hit concrete" - "Kiss the Bottle" by Jawbreaker
"And if the sky falls tonight, we'll all run outside and catch stars in the streetlight" - "Stars In the Streetlight" by Chamberlain
"Go on west or come to me, just stay the same; don't ever change" - "Wait At Milano" by Tim Barry
Also, pretty much all of Thunder Road and Bobby Jean. I'll stop there and add more later, as I could go on and on.

Awesome song! I wanna get a tattoo saying "STAY FREE" across my knuckles at some point. I'm struggling to think of many song lyrics at the moment, but one of my favourites is - "We learnt more from a three minute record Than we ever learnt in school" - from No Surrender by Bruce Springsteen

| "This mechanical impulse knows not loyalty or mercy" Against Me! - "Animal"
"We sing with our heroes, 33 rounds per minute, we're never going home 'till the sun says we're finished, I'll love you forever if I ever love at all" C'mon really? Like you guys don't know
"And there aint no turning back when a train is off its track and there's nothing we can do but watch it crash!" Streetlight Manifesto - "Watch it Crash"
I can go on all day, so I'll stop right there before I get to carried away

| Fuck the Goo Goo Dolls, they can suck my balls
They look like the dogs that hang out at the mall
Eminem can suck it, so can Dr. Dre
They can suck each other just because they're gay
They can suck a dick, they can lick a sack
Everybody shout, "Heavy metal's back!"

Also I was gonna put the California Burritos one too but I figured someone else would do it lol I've read some places that it's referring to listening to Bob Dylan with a friend, but I'm not entirely sure since I always took it into a personal meaning for myself and never really paid attention to what it meant. And I had a feeling that someone would say something about that California Burritos lyric XD

I think someone once mentioned on here that 84 is something to do with a timber delivery company, and it refers to Brians pre-TGA job as a roofer. I'm not familiar with this though so maye one of our American users can enlighten you a bit more! |
