| wow that's awesome. musta been a great 2 nights. that's sick that you got to hang out with them so much. and if they went on tour with Lucero and the Ship Thieves, that'd be insane. he mentioned touring with The Loved Ones and Chris Wollard when i talked to him in Cleveland, which would be even better. and how come Brian plays guitar righty if he's a lefty? | |

| Most lefties play guitar righty because if your instrument breaks it's not a total pain in the ass to find a quick replacement. I'm a lefty and I learned both guitar and bass righty. | |

| I was quite suprised to find that Brian and Alex R. were both leftys because they both play the guitar as if they are right-handed. I think it might be that thay started playing young. The younger you are the easier it is to pick things up - like languages for example. I began learning the guitar recently but found it extremely difficult to play it strumming with my right hand, which is probably mostly down to me being a lefty myself. I still need to find funds for a left handed guitar though....
Glad you had a great time and you were so lucky to hang out with TGA like that.

| I know. Things just keep getting in the way. This summer is a good time to start properly whilst I have nothing to do and my friends are leaving me for exotic lands. My best friend is going to Australia for 2 months! | |

| such a great story! the friend i went with to the shepherds bush show talked to Alex R about being a lefty (she's one too, but plays left handed guitar), and when we asked him why he played right hand he said it was cheaper. | |

| True. It is cheaper! The left handed guitars I found are substantially more expensive than the right handed ones. However, I find playing right handed is hard because it feels almost like a mental block. I would rather be a good left handed guitar player than a terrible right handed one! | |

I'm uploading them to youtube right now if anyone wants to check them out. Just search for "DonnJuan715" and they should come up. I'll try to get them on Vimeo also.

I looked at Benny a few times during the set and made eye contact. We proceeded to jam on whatever song Brian was singing, looking at each other and screaming the words, for a solid 30 seconds a few times. Rosamilia noticed me in the front again and said hi (this was before Benny and I jammed).
Haha, I love doing that. I always seem to be in the same spot at all Gaslight shows, he spots me and i just crack up!

| denver was awesome! my friends and I almost didn't get in because our names weren't on the list for some reason, and two of my friends didn't have tickets. the doorman was unusually cool and we all managed to get in.
i couldn't believe it was sold out. I blame heartless bastards.

There were a couple of people in front of me that they just let in for free because they didn't have their tickets. I had an extra and just gave it to someone standing outside. I'd rather give it away then see it go to waste. I'm glad you got in!

| Also, about the lesbian comment in regards to the Heartless Bastards fans.
Dude, seriously. Lesbians and angry single Moms. NOT that there is anything wrong with that, but the fella I was with felt like shouting "SHOW ME YOUR TITS" just to see what kind of row he could cause, before I begged him to think against it. LOL.

| They would have killed him if he shouted that.
Their guitarist, the guy with the glasses was a nice guy. I talked to him afterwards about the craziness of Colorado Springs as compared to Boulder and Denver which are so close.

| Murder is never a cool thing. But nor is having a set that seemingly never ends right before Gaslight. >_< I just think there were a lot more people in Denver who were slightly more vocal [from where I was] about how long their set was than in the Springs. Patience is a virtue and all though. I used my time to get another beer and use the restroom while the line wasn't long. | |

| I really liked the Heartless Bastards, but folk rock is my thing. I enjoyed their set a lot. Well, the first night I couldn't hear anything but the drums (that were in my face), but the second night sounded really good to me.
Please note that I am neither a lesbian or a single mom.
I've sat through some bad opening bands before, but just remember, somebody out there probably does like them even if they're not your thing. Gaslight Anthem was/is an opening band for some people.

| Of course of course. I'm just stating my opinion. I like their album better than them live. I really enjoyed A Death In The Family. ^_^ Australia comes out with some awesome talent. | |
