I'm very crous to hear how Rosemary sounds on the album. I LOVED it hearing it live at Foxwoods (and YouTube videos as well).

Hope it still rocks on the album.

from the videos I've seen it looks like Brian is singing and playing electric, Ian playing electric, Alex playing keys / electric and someone playing 12-string acoustic (not sure who he is), along with Catherine on bass and someone on drums

It's Jared Hart on the 12-string acoustic I believe.

ps. he released a solo record (Past Live & Pass Lines) last year and it is mindblowing!

I had preordered one of the bundles and received my Painkillers song download today. Perfect start to the weekend and who cares that it's snowing outside .

I noticed that too. At one point I was thinking of the words to this song and singing it in my head and accidentally segued right into selected poems, haha. Not upset about it though.

The more I hear of this record, the more I think Butch Walker was absolutely the perfect choice. Everything sounds clear and clean, and there’s plenty going on but each sound still has room to breathe. And most importantly, the songs get a chance to shine through without being hidden by dodgy sounds or overproduction.

Something he seems to achieve on all his records is that feeling that it’s a bunch of people in a room playing music together and having fun (even though we know they weren’t all there together this time!) and I love that style; if the people making the music aren’t enjoying it, how on earth can they expect the listener to?

Also really glad that Jared Hart is part of the live band. There are a LOT of really great BVs going on here, and having somebody that will do them justice will add hugely to the show I think.

it's amazing that Jared is part of the Crowes and I am also happy that he supports them with his own record!

Really enjoying the latest track, it sounds really Bryan Adams. Honestly, if it had been on the Reckless outtakes exactly as it is, I wouldn't have blinked an eye. And I say that as a lifelong fan; this is a very good thing!

I think I'm only going to appreciate all the songs in the context of the album. At the moment, I feel like the production is a little rough, but hopefully my opinion will change with the release.

I was really hoping to get a "First Listen" stream this week since we had one for the last two Gaslight albums (HW on NPR, GH on iTunes), especially with the tour starting tomorrow. Would've been nice to be able to get to know the rest of the songs a little more beforehand.

Hey there - for folks like myself who 'ordered too early' and don't have the downloads available to them/us despite paying for the record via pre-sale, did they ever resolve your issue? I still have no update and no downloads. Just curious. And kind of annoyed. Thx.

Yeah, mine got resolved eventually...it took them a few days to respond to the email each time, but they sent download links and the last one I actually got on the morning of release. Fingers crossed this will be the same for Friday, as my mail never comes before I leave for work so I'm relying on the digital version!

Hey - thanks for the response. I've emailed them several times and they kept saying that everyone's will get resolved at the same time and they would send a mass email when the DL links were available for us. I've gotten nothing. So I paid the $85 bucks and will now have to involve my CC company to fight the charges if I cannot even download the record on the day of its release...not pleased at all. Unresponsive, and unresolved....Boo. Hissss.

On to more positive notes, both the CD and vinyl were available at Brian's in-store today in Philly.

He played Smoke, PK, Foolish Things, and Rosemary. Told the backstory before each song.

Loving the album, so far.
