Lol. This guy I no longer talk to for good reason texts me "hey" at least once a week, attempting to initiate conversation and I never respond to him. I've only held maybe three short-lived text conversations with him over the past 10 months or so, but he keeps texting me that "hey" every single week or so without fail. He's either ridiculously optimistic or terrible at taking hints.

My instance is a dude I talked to for a few months TEN YEARS AGO that just will not go away. I thought I finally got him to fuck off 4 years ago and thought that was the end of it, but apparently not. Bleh. I won't bore you with the story (it's not that awful/scary- mostly him trying to stay connected via social media, but I don't even want that).

Just know that after a point, persistence with a girl/guy does not pay off. It makes you look like a pathetic creep with a mental problem. STFU AND GO AWAY.

I don't know if it's your guy being optimistic or dense. I was reading that sometimes when a guy/girl knows they are not wanted, they pester the person just to feel some sort of control in the situation. Like "you can't reject me cus I won't go away" or something like that.

Ick. People can be so annoying. Is he the Facebook rash type, that likes and comments on everything you post? If that's the case, you can always hide your posts from him.

Idk why my idiot keeps trying to talk to me. We used to work together and I had a really big crush on him, but he had a girlfriend so all we ever did was see each other at work and text. I tried to get him to hang out (just hang out; I wasn't actively trying to steal him or anything) but he always said he couldn't, had plans, etc. so I quit asking. Then he broke up with her and he still didn't wanna hang out with me, and when I found out he had a new girlfriend I gave up. But at the end of last year (2013), he asked me if I wanted to go see a movie or something after the semester was over, so I thought, "Well, if he's the one asking, then maybe he wants to," so the next week I asked him if he wanted to do something that night and he gave me another B.S. excuse, so I threw in the towel because I see no point in maintaining a friendship that is based solely on texting each other and NOTHING ELSE. It's like, find someone else to talk to, dude. I'm not a fucking chatbot.

I guess the short version is he just keeps popping up every time he decides to join the latest social media platform. Like when he joined Twitter, he followed me and I think he just joined Instagram, so he followed me yesterday. I have him blocked on everything I can block him from.

Your guy sounds like he goes to you when he needs attention and if it's not a good time for him he doesn't have interest. So he's a twat is what I'm saying.

Yeah, not sure what to think of it. Or Blink in general. They've got a couple of great songs, but a lot of their stuff kinda gets boring too pretty fast...

As for their live reputation...

Skiba's a significantly better songwriter than any of them and I much prefer his singing, but I'm not sure his persona is exactly a fit for blink-182. Plus, I'd hate for this to take any time away from Alkaline Trio, which is IMO, a significantly superior band. Hopefully this is just a temporary gig for him.

Thanks! Just wish I had money for the studio so i could really up the quality.

Oh by the way, need to do some shameless self promotion: I'm working on a webcomic as a sort of practical dissertation thing for art school. It's got a good amount of Gaslight inspiration (as well as The Hold Steady and just good music in general), so I figure this is not a terrible place to throw it around a bit

So I'm reading 50 Shades of Grey and it is hands down the most terrible book I have ever read in my entire life. Holy hell, I thought my writing was bad... this shit is off-the-charts dreadful. How this is a bestseller is beyond me.

It's a best seller because, some people like literature that sucks. See twilight for an example.
