Elsie is walk-home music for me. It meshes with the suburban surroundings and becomes something really existential, especially Cherry Blossoms.
That song killllls me. Elsie's great night-time driving music, too! Every night throughout winter I would listen to Cherry Blossoms on my way to and home from work, and the city I live in is basically empty and dead after 10pm until around 6am, so that song just fit soooo perfectly.
I agree so much. I once drove over the Bay Bridge in the middle of the night, playing "Cherry Blossoms", and it just fit.
Exactly. There's just something about that song.

crazy tired. took a day trip into sf to spread a friend's ashes into the ocean this morning. it was just surreal watching the ashes float away.

anything i could say right now would just be trivial and meaningless, but... it's really nice that you could be there for your friend to spread their ashes. i can't imagine what that's like, though.

thanks, y'all.
i ended up calling my dad while i was waiting for my train earlier, this time without any annoyance, which was nice. today, i saw someone do one of the hardest things they could ever do as a parent and it just kinda made me appreciate my own parents a little bit more. also was a reminder to myself to stop being so damn negative about a lot of things.
