PostSubject: Re: Bruce Springsteen   Bruce Springsteen - Page 32 Icon_minitimeWed Oct 16, 2013 9:45 am

Greetings-- Lost in the Flood
WIESS-- NYC Serenade
BTR- Backstreets... picking a favorite here is nearly impossible.
Darkness- Racing
The River- Drive All Night
Nebraska- Open All Night
BIUSA-- No surrender
TOL-- Walk Like a Man
Lucky Town-- If I should fall behind
Human Touch-I wish I were Blind
GOTJ- Youngstown
The Rising-- You're missing
Devils and Dust-- The Hitter
Magic-- Devils Arcade
Working on a Dream-- Kingdom of Days
The Promise-- The Promise
Wrecking Ball-- Death to my Hometown

Although, like everyone else, I'm sure if I re-made the list in a week or two a few songs wouldn't be the same.

Ok, I'm definitely participating in this list making...(and I'm including The Promise because that's mostly new music even if it was mostly written quite awhile ago)

Greetings from Asbury Park: Lost In The Flood
The Wild, The Innocent, & The E Street Shuffle: 4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)
Born To Run: Born To Run (really it's a 7-way tie, I don't love Meeting Across The River)
Darkness: Darkness on The Edge of Town
The River: The River
Nebraska: Atlantic City
Born In The USA: No Surrender
Tunnel of Love: Tunnel of Love
Lucky Town: If I Should Fall Behind
Human Touch: Human Touch
Ghost of Tom Joad: Youngstown
The Rising: Mary's Place
Devils and Dust: Devils & Dust
Magic: Radio Nowhere
Working on a Dream: Kingdom of Days
The Promise: Save My Love
Wrecking Ball: Land of Hopes and Dreams

I absolutely love your picks. And I would definitely go with Save My Love as well. If he could put out an album filled with songs like that it would rival anything he's done for me.

Thanks! I know that one is just amazing. I'm so glad he decided to finish and release all the tracks on that album, but Same My Love is definitely one of the strongest songs on there.

Been listening to 'Tracks' a lot recently and I think at the moment Zero And Blind Terry is my favourite Bruce song. Surprised it never made an album. Such a great song.

I'm listening to Tunnel of Love right now and it's officially my favorite Springsteen album. I love every single song and the production is just stellar, not to mention the tender emotions present on every track. It seems to be a more underrated record in his discography but for my money it's his most consistent and captivating.

i feel like there is a big roy orbison influence on that album, or old rock and roll. like the organ solo in two faces reminds me the organ solo in Runaway by Del Shannon

There's definitely a big country influence too. Everything about that album just blows me away. And this coming from someone who a year ago couldn't have cared less about anything Springsteen related. Wink

Yeah I agree...I just feel sort of, not cheated, just slightly let down when there is someone like Bruce who goes and releases a bunch of covers despite all his talent. I like covers and all, but that's a lot for one album.

If this is true, I'll probably end up skipping this one, but one track that could be really cool is The Ghost of Tom Joad. That is, if the person who wrote that article is right and it's the version with Tom Morello's solo. I wouldn't object to a good recording of that!
