Oh. I thought you meant that line was in the song and he dropped it (as in got rid of it) last night!

I was going to stand on that elevated part on Alex L's side but figured my camera would be a big fail at that distance. When I saw a spot open up at the stage instead I hightailed it down the stairs!
http://www.examiner.com/article/concert-review-the-gaslight-anthem-at-the-music-hall-of-williamsburg Posting this here. In case you haven't had time to watch the stream or want an idea of what Tim Barry was like, or photos from my perspective, etc. I linked the other photos on my Flickr in the article.

For the most part I find NYC audiences to be meh in comparison to other cities. I think a small pit broke out behind me (that I wasn't aware of until someone told me after the show). It wasn't a bad crowd, but it was no Jersey crowd
Agreed, this crowd was anemic.
i noticed! the front around me and the ppl i was with was weak! we were rocking hard and dancing, and for the most part ppl were just kinda standing around
btw that girl from Australia and her friend spent the whole show talking to each other, texting, and screaming a brian to let them on stage, ignoring the fact that tTGA were actually playing songs, it was super annoying!

I hope Brian's voice will hold up throughout this tour. It's kind of shocking how much better he sounded on 45 at the Pony. He realized it last night, too. During the 2nd chorus he just took one line off so he could gather himself.

Oh man really? That's odd. Maybe she actually just lives around the corner and uses her Australian-ness to get attention! j/k He said that they got her into the show too I think? Why bother.

I had to miss the Livestream event last night, so thanks for posting this. Boy, "45" sounds rough. I loved the song when it came out, but the one concern I had about it was how hard the song might be for Brian to sing live. The acoustic performance and this one kind of prove that there's some kinks to work out on that front.

Honestly I think 45 is a very poor song and sounds even worse live. Thanks for this nonetheless it was a great show.

Demuxed the audio from the live stream, converted to mp3, tracked and tagged everything. The intro and encore are separate tracks but the other banter is left at the end of the previous song.
edit: mediafire says 30+ people have downloaded this, so I guess it's working. here's the full tracklisting

It was unbelievably good at the video shoot and Brian sounded literally the best I've ever heard him. I have no idea what happened between then and now, but yeah, his vocals left some to be desired last night.

I didn't get the greatest photos last night as Music Hall of Williamsburg has pretty low lighting, but here they are anyway: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jhawkins/sets/72157629778606614/with/7218822944/

I disagree with you on that but this wasn't a great performance of the song. But i'm not at all worried, it's the firs "real" time they performed it. There may have been some technical problems. I was at the video shoot and anyone can tell you the ENTIRE band nailed it - evertyime.

Don't get me started. The lighting was so f'ing low. Be glad you got anything! I spent way too much time getting mad at my camera. Should have put the camera away earlier than I did so I could focus on the show. Still had a great time but I wanted to punch the lighting in the face. They basically lit Brian and that's it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/starstruck76/sets/72157629767211662/ these are how mine came out!

This girl got some well lit photos- I don't know if she used flash or what. I'm not a fan of them creatively but I am jealous you can see everyone FFS. Although this looks a bit dire: http://www.ampmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/reed_timbarry-gaslight30.jpg

I was at the video shoot too and if anything it's even better live. But I think Brian's voice just bailed on him for this song this time. No idea why but you can tell he realized it and just stepped away from the mic and didn't bother singing it at one part b/c he lost his vocals. Then he came back and finished it out but yeah something got messed up. I'm sure the more they play it, the better it'll be.

Like I said in another post. I heard it played 6 times at the shoot and they nailed it every time. I think Brian's voice just failed him this time. It is a challenging song for him and I think that's gonna happen sometimes. I mean with every song he has days where he sings them better than others. Hopefully maybe if he finally quits smoking he'll have more good days than bad!

Maybe he forgot the words. I've seen bands that had been playing a song for 10 years forget a line or repeat it by accident.

I watched a crowdshot video of 45 from last night and it didn't seem like as big of a deal since the crowd was singing so loud - like maybe he was just stepping back to let them sing the line. But I wasn't there so I don't know.

I don't know, man...could be, but his voice was sounding very weak and strained on the line before. And then it was slightly stronger when he came back. I think he was just clearing his throat or something.
But yeah, I have complete confidence in Brian to nail it live, because he did it 6 times in one night only a week ago.

It's the chorus right after the line "But 'Better Sense" says"
His voice sounded strained through the entire song. I think he just needed to rest it a moment because he came back a little stronger after. I don't know maybe he didn't warm up enough/at all, I don't know his routine but he sounded strained in a few songs. I'm not worried though because he didn't sound like that the week before in AP.
