Oh yeah you'd totally think people would get crazy especially if they paid scalper prices. But even during Bruce Springsteen at the IZOD, which people fought tooth and nail over to get tickets for, saw people leaving before the show's end. I was surprised, but then again not really.
The theory is NYC crowds (and I've heard this about L.A. too) are jaded because everyone comes through town, whereas in the other areas of the country, bands aren't in town every few months, so they appreciate the show more. The best crowds I've seen were small clubs in the South. People go ballistic and it's awesome. Brooklyn's crowds have been even better than Manhattan's. That Frank Turner crowd at the last Knitting Factory was intense.
I always associated Ibanez with hair metal.
