Don't complain to us again when your pants don't fit. It was my one big meal a month... the rest of the month might be nothing but salad. You've been talking about eating brownies for several days now. DO YOU HAVE NO WILL POWER. Plus, nothing but salad? Get real. That's not healthy. I do not understand you. |

Heck of a group they are. Near the end I put them on. Hey no problem. It actually doesn't strike me as too odd in some ways, because of the many interviews, I've read, they always said it was awhile until they actually realized they were "big" or "famous" even when everyone else was saying they were. ( paraphrasing obviously) Actually when i was getting certified, I met this guy (who worked there) and his band actually played some shows with them, back during gaslights New brunswick days. He said it was crazy for the people who were around them and watched them grow. Like it was so fast. But everyone, is really happy for gaslight.

Me too! I'm watching it right now. Forrest Gump has one of the best soundtracks ever. The 60s are my favorite time period, and watching this movie reminds me that I was born a generation too late. Not enough cool stuff happened for Generation X (I hate that name...).

I would have loved to have been a teenager in the 60s when everything was happening and a young adult in the 70s. The Civil Rights Movement, the Summer of Love, Woodstock, Monterey Pop, Women's Lib, everything. The whole country was changing and I missed it. I would have made a great hippie activist. And what was going on in the world when I was growing up? The AIDS epidemic, the Berlin Wall coming down, the Challenger disaster, Reaganomics, preppies, rap music, the O.J. Simpson trial...not a whole lot of cool stuff. Sigh...

Oh, that's a bummer! Maybe he can work on his singing and be accepted on the show next year. That's one good thing about The Voice, age doesn't matter. Not like with American Idol where the cut-off age for auditions is 28. 28! That's still so young! At least you got to see one friend. Did you guys do anything fun? My spring break (my first one since college!) was mostly spent taking care of my nieces and nephews and cleaning. Fun, huh? Now it's back to work, and things are going to get even busier than they have been! I feel stressed out just thinking about it.

| What was happening when I was growing up? Rap, Y2K, Clinton, The Bush-Gore thing, The war in Iraq, Columbia accident, Earnhardt's death, 9/11, and nothing good. My childhood was full of terrible national events. I would have loved to have been around for The rise of Springsteen, The asbury park sound, Bob Seeger, and all the good events I missed. I probably would have been involved in protests as well. | |

| That's very interesting, Jimmy! I never would have thought of you as a protest kind of guy. Just out of curiosity, what would you have protested if you had been around back in the 60s/70s? I was often called the hippie of my high school because I was all for peace, love, and freedom, and spoke out against everything I couldn't stand and for everything I thought was right. I have always had a big mouth I guess. Wouldn't that have been amazing to see Bruce when he was just starting out in Asbury Park? To be a part of something that would become so huge would have been an incredible thing to experience. That's something that I think our generations have lost out on. Generations of people are interesting things. My sister and I are only three years apart in age, but we belong to two different generations and definitely identify with different time periods. We are not like peas and carrots. | |

That is the protesting. I am passionate about that kind of stuff. Politics, wars, anti nukes, etc. But So much 70's music I would love, Jackson Browne, Charlie Daniels Band, Willie Nelson/Johnny Cash/Kris Kristopherson/Waylon Jennings, etc.

Let's see...CSN&Y, Jackson Browne, the Eagles, Bob Seger, BRUCE!, James Taylor, Carole King, Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin, that list could go on forever!
