A friend and I went to an old train station in town (because the reverb there is amazing) and recorded a version of an old folk song, Talk about suffering.
The sound quality turned out less than ideal but I think the harmonies still shine through fairly well

hey jimmy. i think your singing voice has gotten quite a bit better! nice work, and keep working at it.
the verses in particular i thought were good. the chorus might have been a bit out of your vocal range. not by much though. maybe just bringing that chorus down on octave would work. i know neil goes up for the chorus but singers change that kinda stuff all the time.

I dunno how many American Aquarium fans there are on this forum but here's a cover I did of "I hope he breaks your heart." Not even a big fan of the song but I absolutely love the line "You fuck like a woman, but you love like a little girl" which was enough incentive to do a cover of it. Anyhoo I'd really appreciate anyone who gives it a listen.

just did a rough cover of my wrecking ball by ryan adams. really not that good but kinda interested in where to improve, because i felt like this song more or less fit my vocal range nicely. https://soundcloud.com/black2white/my-wrecking-ball-ryan-adams-c-o-v-e-r

1. Don't have 30 second acoustic intros (unless you layer with fancy guitar melodies and whatnot) 2. Learn how to sing
The second one might sound a bit harsh but unfortunately that's kinda the deal. You're not always hitting the notes you should be hitting and even when you do, your voice sounds kind of insecure, like it doesn't know what it's doing. Maybe take some vocal classes?

Maybe I should I try "simple man" by Skynyrd. The slower songs are more my vocal style.
