I wonder where they have that 'preview' business from. I also seriously doubt the album will be out by then (you don't promote an album like that with a support slot/festival tour). I assume all these gigs will be 'greatest hits' ones with the odd new song thrown in.

Considering they started mixing a couple of days ago how long do you think it will be 'til they have mixed the whole album?

Yeah I think so. I was reading somewhere that often it can take a day to do a couple of songs so hopefully it won't be much more than a week.

Assuming they get the mixing done in a week, then it'll be at least a week for mastering. Then it goes to the label to design the cover art, etc. It'll take a couple months to print covers, make the CDs, design a marketing plan, and the rest. Especially since they're working with a new label this time around, that process may take far longer than any of us would like. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see the finished album until September.

Which, of course, doesn't mean we won't get leaks way before then. In fact, given the "intimate preview" in June, I'll bet they start leaking tracks mid-summer in anticipation of a September/October release.

Noooooooo!! I still think they can release it in July.

surely it would be naive of them to think that there won't be any leaks from the preview session? so i would think that they wouldn't have too much time between that session and the actual release. bruce previewed his album only a couple of weeks before the actual thing came out.

That's what I was thinking. The iTunes Session leaked like two months in advance so I would hope they look to get this album out asap to avoid having to bring the release date forward again.

I seriously hope they manage to release the album without leaking. And I hope it will be still in summer. Maybe after these few gigs.

I'm not sure what to expect from that Koko gig but even if they're only playing a few new songs I will be happy

That's the burning question, isn't it? If you'll look back in this thread, you'll see that they want to release it during the summer or early Fall at the latest. Other than that, we only have speculation.

I hope not. I really can't stand it when a band releases a greatest hits record after only a few albums. It's the sort of thing that should be reserved for when they're past half a dozen albums at least.

Or at least after 20 years of pounding rocksongs!

I'm so excited for an official release of Biloxi Parish too. It's such a cool song, and if that is any indication of how Handwritten will sound, I will not be able to contain myself. Seriously, I will be much too excited for my own good!

45 sounds very promising! A throwback to old 45 records maybe? Have there been any other song titles thrown around yet besides 45, Biloxi, and Mae? I need details!

Read that first sentence out of context and just spent the last 10 minutes hopelessly searching the internet for the song thinking it had been leaked/released/played live before.
