Handwritten (Album) Chords

New album means rush of people trying to learn songs. Now I've seen a few chord progressions out there on Andy Diamond, some on Ultimate Guitar, and some on here. So I've decided I'd begin to collect as many songs as possible, and try to fill in the ones missing.

What do you think of these chords for Howl? They might be in the wrong key and they might just be totally wrong, but I decided to give it a shot instead of waiting for someone else to post it.

I figured out the whole album the other day, but didn't write most of it down. I wrote out "mulholland" the other day from memory, but I should be able to get the rest of it this weekend.

May not be not 100% correct.

Handwritten-chorus looks like (capo 3. fret): e-minor, C, D, e-minor

Handwritten's basically just this:

(Tuned down 1 Step)

Verse: Am C F

Pre-Chorus/Coda: C G Am F

Chorus: Am F C G

Not sure what the bridge is, but it sounds fairly major so I'm pretty sure it starts on C.

Oh, and the little part after the bridge is F G, I think.

Keepsake:

Chorus: Am F C G

Bridge: C Am F G

Not as sure about the bridge, but it sounds alright. Maybe there's a C thrown in before the G, not sure. I'm doing this from memory.

Riff: A A A C E E-G A (3x) C A G G-A

Then you basically start the verses with the riff but on the "put ourselves through" you play a C chord and then an F chord

Pre-Chorus: C E Am-G F C E Am-G F-Fm

Chorus: C G Am F

Note that the song is actually in E-major but he plays an E/b, that is an E chord with B as the bass note.

Haven't sat down with a guitar to work with it but the intro of it definitely sounds like standard Gaslight C-G-Am-F stuff, in whatever key. Probably Bb.

Yeah it's C-G-Am-F in Gaslight's tuning, then Am-F-C-G for the chorus. The intro and verses are played like this kinda:

*i typed it out on my phone..the picking pattern is pretty easy to figure out. Then I just play the chords for the chorus.

Not that I don't appreciate these posts but I'm waiting for proper posts with as many guitar parts as can be figured out before I invest time to learn songs.

Yeah, to be honest, learning songs by ear is fun. Give it a try. It's not as hard as you'd think.

Is it negative to say "I'm not going to listen to 45 when first released because I would rather wait and listen to the album as a whole?" That's pretty close to what I said and there were similar posts all over this board.

And I can learn some chords by ear. I'm not good enough to learn Alex's parts but I like to play them with the chords. Given the popularity of the band and the number of things like guitar pro files that have been created for the last album, I am anticipating full tabs for pretty much every song in the not too distant future. Can't wait.

Hey everyone, does anyone know the approx chords for Teenage Rebellion? I am constantly surprised by how much I suck at tabbing by ear.

I think the reason I too interpreted it as kind of standoffish was your use of the phrase "proper posts". It's fine to wait for whatever it is you're looking for, but like Harbortown said, we're just some kids with guitars trying to help out other kids with guitars.

Cool name. As soon as I get a chance, I'm going to try to arrange the chords that have been already posted so that they match up with the lyrics, but for now, let's give Jack, Harbortown, and everyone who is working on the chords a hand for what they've done so far.

10-4. Too be clear, there are a couple things I meant by "proper posts". Lead guitar parts (not necessarily for the whole song w/ solos but the main riffs in between verses) are one. If it is just chords, then chords with lyrics. And also, a consensus among the community that the chords/tabs are correct (because let's be honest, there are some terrible tabs put out there sometimes).

Props for doing the work and bettering yourself by learning by ear. Someone has to take the initial steps. My personal choice is to wait for the things listed above before I learn the songs, given that I think they will be out there on the internet VERY quickly. How many freakin 45 covers were posted on youtube the first week that song was out there? A lot.
