| So how was it? Go Tell Everybody ) So far I only found a few Twitter messages with pics: https://twitter.com/#!/side_one_dummy/status/111993528682426368 https://twitter.com/#!/eljefedesign/status/111986112884510720 one video (Katy Perry Cover - Teenage Dream) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KNbmkwsu0U and found out that they did a cover if INXS' "Never Tear Us Apart" incl. a solo by Ian and also that Brian ended Ladykiller with The Cure's "Pictures Of You" | |

| Quick report (will be writing a full one for Examiner with photos and video clips if they came out, which I'll post here when I finish as usual):
I like the album but am not at the point where it's part of the fabric of my being or anything (only listened about 4 times between the stream and the CD release) so I wasn't sure what to expect. Meaning, I wasn't sure how the songs would be live and what kind of energy the room would have. But short description: it was magical. Go Tell Everybody's ending was amazing. Behold The Hurricane sounded phenomenal. The covers were SO good too. Teenage Dream was great, but Never Tear Us Apart by INXS was awesome. The guys were all in suits but overall (at least in my area of the floor) people seemed to be in normal jeans/t-shirt attire. At the beginning people seemed to be pretty quiet but then they inevitably started talking and I heard at least two "BRUCE!"s which, just stop with that already. At this point what are people accomplishing by yelling that. But basically I think the crowd gave a good reception and at least two people near me knew a lot of the words to the songs.
EDIT: And duh, Alex R. played with them as well!
Anyway, will post the link later (probably tomorrow)! Awesome show!

| You know I don't remember Hurricane going so fast tonight. Must be why I was so into it! I liked it anyway on the record, but live it got a real kick in the ass I guess! | |

maybe they should only sell tickets to people who actually care Agreed. I can't wait to see a full video of Mary Ann. Hope everyone had a great time at the show! From the looks of the videos it seems like it was amazing. |

| Literally just walked in the door from the show...
The whole subway to bus to metro to car to home thing has worked out and the 10 hour travel day round trip was EASILY worth it...
The Horrible Crowes blew my mind and I think just about everyone else's mind in the Ballroom last night. Brian is truely something special and he was in top form last night. It was absolutely amazing.
They were INCREDIBLE. I honestly can't capture how wonderful it was with my words.
Made a lot of great friends up towards the front, most of them being on dimestoresaints...
Great to meet you Andrew, Daniel and Paul.... I forgot everyone else's name, but there were so many wonderful people and such great times had at the show. I wish they could've kept playing all night long because we all could have stayed for hours.
But holy cow, wow, I will gladly travel 10 hours to see something of that caliber. It was a special night, being their debut show, I think everyone had high expectations for it, and it even exceeded expectations. Amazing how many people actually knew the words to nearly every song....
Absolutely magical evening.
THANK YOU CROWES and also fellow dimestore saints, for making it a truly perfect evening. | |

| I second everything rkirkpatrick said. There was something magical in the air. Many, many highlights but among them was the ridiculously hard rocking end to Last Rites. What a way to kick off the night. The biggest surprise for me was the lack of Ian on vocals. It seemed like the most significant back-up vocals Ian did was the "Woah oh ohs" on Hurricane. With the higher pitch vocals on the album (e.g., at the end of Hurricane and the "sugar baby" parts on Go Tell Everybody), I had assumed that was Ian. Brian actually sang those parts live. I didn't realize he could sing in a falsetto like that. Great stuff. For those that care, there wasn't a whole lot of merchandise for sale. There was the El Jefe poster and a few shirts (two different ones I think). Below is the shirt that my wife bought. They also had the red vinyl for sale. [img] [/img]
