| Hmm... who could it be? here are my bets:
1. Tom Gabel 2. Chuck Regan 3. Frank Turner Tom Gabel is who I hope it is, but I think Chuck is the most likely

| hmm...Frank was just in NYC and Gaslight is on a break...and NYC is only a short ride from Jersey... but maybe not. I just went back and read the original post about it being one of the greatest song writers of our time. I guess we'll have to wait and see. | |

| my first thought was Frank Turner, 'cause of the A New England duet they did, but i'm thinking based on the "greatest songwriters of our time" thing, it could be Jesse Malin (whom he played a solo show with) or Jakob Dylan, as he recommended both of their solo albums in his "i'm no longer making a solo album" blog post | |

| yeah, for the VC Under the Influence series. anyway, i made a list of the most likely people to be on the other half of the split:
1. Chris Wollard - Brian's a huge fan of HWM, and has mentioned that they are probly touring with the Ship Thieves this fall, so this seems really likely. Wollard previously did a split with Mike Hale of Gunmoll and In the Red, and has been around long enough that he may deserve to go in the "most amazing songwriters of our time" category.
2. Frank Turner - Toured with TGA, performed Billy Bragg's "A New England" with Brian at the end of the show a few times. And he is definitely amazing.
3. Dave Hause - Brian was talking about touring with The Loved Ones this fall, and Dave is just starting out on his own solo career, so it seems likely that he'd start with a split 7".
4. Jamie Hay - TGA has played several shows with A Death In the Family, both in Australia and the U.S., and Brian has Jamie on his Top Friends on MySpace. Though Jamie's stuff in Fear Like Us and Tyre Swans is pretty incredible, I don't think he's high profile enough to receive the "one of the most amazing songwriters of our time" label.
5. Ben Nichols - Brian's a fan of Lucero, and Nichols is pretty sick.
6. Greg Attonito - Brian's a longtime fan of The Souls, and Greg is just starting to go solo. He's pretty incredible, too.
7. Tommy from Communication Redlight - Brian might wanna record some more stuff with this guy, though I doubt he would give him the "most amazing" label, and he's almost completely unknown, so we wouldn't all "know and love him".
8. Robert Bradley - Just a thought, but I'm sure Brian would love to do something with this guy.

| Brian's got a post on his twitter about going to brooklyn...guess who else is in brooklyn right now recording...Frank Turner. I'm just not sure if Frank finished up yet, but his twitter posts seem like he's still in the studio.

| I mean, who the hell knows though. Obviously they could record this thing from anywhere and they don't need to be in the same studio, but it seems kinda convenient knowing Frank is in the states and Gaslight heads back out on tour at the end of the week...I'm just sayin... | |
