| John- I wouldn't base deciding whether to see Gaslight off the opinions on here. You might view their performance differently. | |

Nah it's not about that, I've had my qualms about it for a while and this just sorta confirmed my suspicions. I just don't feel like it's worth 100+ dollars to go there and see them play considering the way Brian has been acting lately. Sure, you say it's all just interviews and stuff like that but you could apply that to a few years ago as well when he seemed all chipper. I know as little about his personal life now as I do then, and I think it's pretty safe to say that his attitude has changed even though we can tell only by interviews and shows.

| Exactly, I feel ya Harbortown... I kinda sum it up like this
Brian pre-2012: genuinely humbled by crowd singing back his words, happy/excited to be in front of the crowd, excited about the new record and horizons for the band, not drinking, not swearing
Brian 2012-now: not so happy go lucky, drinking, swearing, not seeming as excited/happy to be playing shows, not impressed by our dedication as fans....
To be honest, I've been to MANY concerts and Gaslight fans are some of the most passionate, if not THE most passionate I've seen....

Brian has not made it a secret that some very serious personal issues have befallen him recently. I'm not going to feed the rumor mill but the stuff that's going on is hardly a state secret. While I agree that Brian's stage "mood" has undergone a perceptible change, I personally don't think the music has suffered. Those are just my two cents.

I hope he will take the time to address what he needs and just take the time for himself. He could be happier, the band could be happier and the shows could be better... Ultimately, we all want him to be happy because that's the Brian we've come to know and love.... It's been hard to see him appear to be having a tough time

| The only thing I noticed in my times seeing them (20) is Brian has gotten less chatty on stage (with the exception of Night 2 in DC in December, which was one of my favorite shows of theirs ever). But I took that as a reaction to people telling him to shut up and play rather than talk, or perhaps being tired of people taking apart everything he's been saying on stage.
I guess I'm just trying to say to base your opinion on him by your experiences seeing him and not from anything talked about on here. If you happen to agree with the negativity, so be it.
What is this about him spraying the crowd with beer?
@John- I didn't realize the expense was so much for you this time around.

| I don't know if this is old news, but I just came across this concert footage on YouTube. Looks like it was posted in the last few days: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TYl-mphoFY&feature=share&list=SP4h2XGENb6qhW-d9stwfKsWE64sZuv2Kb Annandale Hotel in Sydney on 30 July 2008 | |

Those are just my two cents. i have always thought that being famous is not worth whatever benefit you might gain from it. it's just not. perpetual infamy, recognization... shit. i mean, i'm friendly with people, but someone shoving a camera in my face when i'm walking down the street with my kids...etc...fucking ridiculous. i just can't imagine. so any bit of "fame", no matter how trivial it may seem, i can imagine how that can fuck with someone. and i don't know all the goings-on of his life, but i hope he's alright.
