| I'm so thrilled to see how much the band is switching up their setlists, last year I thought that they had basically done away with most of AS, some of SOS and High Lonesome/River's Edge from 59S, but now it looks like anything can be played. I'm seeing them this summer in Providence and I pray that they are still incorporating some surprises into the setlists.
Also I never got why people dislike Red in the Morning and act like it doesn't sound like a Gaslight Anthem song or something? That song has some killer lines. "I can still feel you now and I hear all your songs in the breeze". Personally I would go nuts if they played that.

| Not got round to posting my thoughts on the Leeds show yet:
I thought it was good and probably better than the shows I saw in autumn. The band looked much more relaxed and the "mini-sets" were an interesting twist . I still think Too Much Blood saps the energy from the crowd (who weren't in great form it has to be said - I was expecting better from Leeds on a Saturday night).
Early show start and finish too - is it an early curfew in Leeds?
Disappointed Angry Johnny's been dropped from the set - that was the real high point of the shows for me last time around.
Bring on Manchester tonight! |

Early show start and finish too - is it an early curfew in Leeds? I've not commented much either. I thought the set was superb, and liked the way they grouped the songs into albums too. The crowd weren't particularly energetic, and i agree with you about Too Much Blood. However i was delighted to hear them play Backseats after it not making the cut on the Thursday night. Plus Say I Won't (Recognize) was a nice surprise. But it was a great, long, set and i enjoyed it as i always do seeing them. To answer your question - the venue run a club night on Saturday nights, so a 10pm curfew for a Saturday night is normal there. I'm off to see BRMC on Saturday and i expect it'll be just the same. An early curfew on a weekend is no big deal to me - you've got more choice of where to go after, more time to get home, etc.

| Manchester got a great set last night I see although I would have been (slightly) disappointed with the encore. I still think you should end a gig with one of your own songs (in the Gaslight Anthem's case it should always be Backseats but you know my thoughts on this already) but in saying that I do like Baba O'Reily and they do a mean cover. I am really not sure about Too Much Blood in an encore, in fact I wouldn't mind if they dropped it completely and although it does fit well on the album it is my last favourite track off Handwritten. Seriously though 1-19 is just amazing. 5 tracks of AS as well including Diamond, Orphans and Old Haunts my three favourites along with Bring it On (I'm guessing this is out for this tour as I don't believe they have played it once). Desire as well! If you could fit Mae in there (first song of the encore) and finish with Backseats that would take some beating as a set. Holy cow, I haven't even mentioned Ferris Wheel. Top stuff | |

| I love Red in The Morning. I'm psyched to see it back. It was my favorite Gaslight song in the early stages of being into them. | |

Bring on Manchester tonight! Argh, this bugged me so much! Unfortunately the only ticket I could get was a balcony one so was left looking down from one side. Some parts of the crowd looked great but I saw many other people just literally stood there not even singing along, so annoying when you just want to be down there making the most of the moment!

| Did they play Blue Dahlia on the last dates? 'Cause I'd love to hear that song in Düsseldorf. I agree about the Too Much Blood thing. I could imagine the song as the very last song of a Gaslight concert though, because of the end where the song slowly concludes with the guitar riff - which I think fits pretty good. | |

Yep, I caught a bit of it on video because I was singing along and couldn't remember what it was! Cue a quick check when I got home on youtube and then the sudden realisation!

| The Gaslight Anthem Return To Glasgow For a Double Show
Despite this, The Gaslight Anthem put on a great show and were obviously enjoying the event as there was more audience interaction than I had seen previously from the band, which is always a good thing with Glasgow audiences!! The band rattled through a fairly extensive set compiled from tracks off their four albums, my personal favourites being The Queen Of Lower Chelsea from American Slang, Great Expectations from The 59 Sound. The Gaslight Anthem conclude their set with Keepsake from Handwritten before returning to a five song encore finishing with The Backseat from the epic album The 59 Sound..

| Didn't they play Handwritten last night in Manchester? http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-gaslight-anthem/2013/manchester-academy-manchester-england-3d89117.html
It's cool that they keep changing their setlist, but damn, if that's true I feel sorry for those guys who went to the show

That said, the crowd was enjoying it all the way through, so don't suppose many complaints. We got American Slang, which a lot of the UK dates appear to have missed. Brian definitely said last night that they were trying to avoid repeating songs they had played the night before in Manchester, to an extent.

| Nope no Handwritten last night.
The Manchester shows were amazing!! I have to admit these gigs seemed like a different band to the one I saw towards the end of last year. Much more energy and tightness.

| They didn't play Handwritten??? I mean I guess they're doing a lot of UK shows so they have to switch it up but I would be devastated if that was the only show I went to and they didn't play it. I'd let the '59 Sound go before that song. | |
