I agree about the US dates. Same for us east coast fans. Unless you are in the North, we've missed out on shows, too

I think capacity is even 8000!

Its a big jump from the Academies to the MEN, Echo Arena, NEC and Wembley Arena. Do we really expect that to happen or will it be a couple of nights at venues like with Koln and London?

Great news whatever the venue. I suspect it'll be more of the same rather than a step up to arenas.

Taking NW England for example, they played Manchester Apollo last week with a capacity of around 3,500 which didn't sell out. Next venues up nearby are Manchester Arena with a capacity of 20,000 and Liverpool Echo Arena which (I think) is around 9,000.

As much as I'd love them to be able to, I really can't see them selling out arenas here yet.

More likely we'll get more shows in large theatre style venues with them playing two nights if the demand is excessive.

i think they have plateaued in the UK - the people I know who heard them on Radio 1 for the first time this year never bothered to go see them last week

Ditto. I mean they've been saying "we're gonna do a full tour of the states in the spring" if they're starting in Europe in April I hope they're starting the US in February. June doesn't count as Spring guys! (even if the first day of summer is June 21st)

I'd obviously prefer them to tour over here permanently but even I'd admit that that's harsh on US and a bit ridiculous.

You gotta walk before you can run. Its too big a leap to go from Academies to Wembley Arena. Next Spring, I'd like to see a smaller step up, so go into small arenas. Say the Bournemouth International Center (BIC), Brighton Center, Bolton Arena, Royal Albert Hall, Southampton Guildhall (Not a big venue, but its on my doorstep so for purely selfish reasons, I'd love that!) Maybe, if its the only show in the northern region, possibly something like Metro Radio Arena or Motorpoint, but otherwise small arenas is the next step. Next tour and next album, then make the step up to larger arenas. I would also suggest them to continue the Festival circuit and for them to move up the bills and also I would suggest supporting someone like Bon Jovi on their upcoming tour, as that would appeal to a new audience, big crowds, would shake the Bruce tag and I think if they were to support Bon Jovi, play Brighton and the BIC and venues of that size and do the festival circuit, higher on the bill, then I'd say that would be a really good year for them.

Dude ...can you not make the Philly show later this year..

I would rather drive 20 mins and spend 50 dollars than drive 5 hrs and spend $400. Plus being a 35 yr old father I kinda don't have time to make roadtrips to see bands like the old days!

If they did just 2 English dates, I could see Manchester G-Mex (Central I believe they call it now? (8000)) and perhaps Alexandra Palace in London being considered, think that's around the 8000 mark too. Royal Albert Hall would be a prestigious venue to play, but not sure it holds more than Hammersmith or Brixton.

I completely forgot about Manc Central. Yea I think that's 8-9000 so a possibility. I still think its too big a step up so soon after NOT selling out the Apollo but wouldn't mind seeing them there - its got a bit more about it than most other arenas.

The Apollo didn't sell? It was shown as sold out on See Tickets etc right up until 2 days before...
