She has a five year old girl and twins that are three and a half (boy and girl), and I couldn't love them more if they were my own. There was a very serious situation two years ago where I almost got custody of the kids, and that would have been the best thing for everyone, but it didn't happen. My cousin can't handle anything when it comes to the kids, so then she gets abusive. But...the state of VA and now the state of TX don't have strict enough laws and the children won't be removed unless things get worse. I live in fear for them. But if anything does happen, I'll get the kids. They will NOT go into foster care.

So sad! I feel the same way, I would take my sister's kids if it ever came to that. But I never wanted kids so I don't know that it would be the best for everyone, but that's just me being selfish I know I would treat them better and also be a sane person for them, which is what every kids deserves.

That's really strange. We're allowed to drink everything 'til 5 percent of alcohol at the age of 16, everything else at 18..

But I'm really glad I didn't drink at 18, and also really glad I wasn't on the internet or drunk on the internet, and there was no such thing as texting!

Aw, I'm sure you'd be fine because you obviously love them and want the best for them. It's just such a tough position to be in, especially when you're powerless to change things. I hate that! I have always wanted kids more than anything, so it was never a question that I would take the kids if anything happened to their parents. I've been there for them since birth, I've gone through everything with those kids, and I'd die for them. I miss them.

I hope you get to see them soon, but maybe not with their mom! I really just can't wait for my niece and nephew to get older so they can understand that most of what my sister says isn't true. I'm looking forward to them being adults just so they won't live with her anymore and I can go visit them and she won't be there! They're 7 and 2 so it's going to be a long time.

I've never been to Europe either, I'm just guessing, based on what I know about America.
