Haha, I can't stand Jay-Z's music. I grew up listening to my mom's music, I love classic rock, and now she listens to everything I do. Our musical tastes have come full circle.

Jay-Z's grown on me a bit. As did Eminem when she went through that phase. But luckily my parents raised me right, on classic rock

I have never been able to get into rap or hip hop at all. I'm a rock and roll girl all the way.

The only legitimate rap I've ever liked is Sage Francis. I do, however, like a loooot of comedic rap. But that doesn't count since the whole point is for them to make fun of rap.
For example:
This is an acquired sense of humor.

I'd show this to my mom, but I run the risk that she might acquire this humor!

Seems like everyone's okay, but one of them popped a tire so they'll probably be out there for awhile. They have a toddler, poor things.

I can't get her into Lucero. She spent more time in Jersey than I did. The south just hasn't rubbed off on her like it has me.

Thank goodness. My friend witnessed a car crash today and it didn't end so well. A few people injured and one (who was just a pedestrian, he wasn't even in a car!) dead.

Jay-Z has 4 phenomenal albums in Reasonable Doubt, In My LIfetime: Vol 1, The Blueprint, & The Black Album. Hip Hop certainly isn't for everyone. However, I'm pretty sure your knowledge of Jay's catalog goes as far as a couple singles you heard on the radio/bar/club. He's actually got quite an impressive discography, from 1996-2003.

That's awful! Is your friend okay? I think I'd be a mess if I saw that. I was in a car accident last month and was totally fine, but it took me forever to calm down. i can't imagine witnessing a fatal accident.

Yeah, after really listening to him he grew on me. Rock is my first love, but I can appreciate hip hop talent.

This. This. This.
Hip-hop isn't something in a steady rotation for me, but it's certainly got a LOT of gems hidden in the rough. Was jamming hard to some Snowgoons, Wu-Tang, and Cunninlynguists today.

She's fine, but she seemed pretty shaken up by it earlier.

That's whats up. Kinda the opposite for me though. Hip Hop is my first love, but my music taste has grown significantly in the last few years. This year I've probably listened to more rock than Hip Hop. That's the first year I've been able to say that. Unfortunately alot of Hip Hop has pretty redundant/superficial/corny subject matter, so you start to weed alot of artists out as you get older. As Paddy said though, there are still tons of great artist hidden in the rough though. Just gotta dig.
That you tryin' to be slick and edit my name subconciousritual ?

Can't say I've heard te new. Kno is seriously one of my tops for sure. Probably only second to Stoupe, but I can't really dig on Vinnie. I'll have to check out their new stuff though.
I try to keep an open palate. Anything from Sunn O))) to Bee Gee's to Springsteen, haha.

Kno dropped a solo album last in 2010 called 'Death Is Silent', as well. I'd put up right up there with some of CL's best work. You'll def wanna hear that too. You know what, I actually haven't heard a Springsteen album. What would be a good place to start ?

I'd say anything pre Born in the USA. His best stuff is with the E Street band for sure. I dig his later stuff to but I don't know if I'd recommend it to jump into. Born to Run or Darkness on the Edge of Town would be my picks.
