So What I took from that was:

1.Jack Johnson isn't as lame as I thought he was.
2. They're going to play another new song

Sweet.

I think he's referring to Biloxi Parish, he didn't say they were going to play another new song.

mmmm, I wonder; Brian said "On all the Australian dates we are going to play a new song, so today you're going to hear a new song […] and that's going to be on the new record"

he could have said "the new song", rather than "a new song", which sounds like one a night, but you may be right

Here`s the direct link to the audio:
http://mpegmedia.abc.net.au/triplej/livemusic/lav_gaslight_anthem_2011_03_04.mp3

And here we go again:

Brian Fallon - Triple J Studios (2011)

This is only the songs without the interview, taken from the direct audio source and normalized for perfect listening pleasure ... folder-pic included ... hope you enjoy!

Is there any way to get the songs in mp3 format? .rar doesnt work for me, I'm guessing it's because I don't have iTunes?

I'm loving both the songs, I've always liked Jack Johnson, and I love Brian's spin on the song Smile

iTunes doesn't have anything to do with that, and the songs ARE in mp3 format. .rar files are like some sort of compressed folders, and in this case the mp3s are in them. just google winrar (or winzip, and there are many many more), download the program and you'll be able to extract the mp3 files from the .rar folder.

@Tobi: thank you Very Happy

Brian is a very honest and humble artist, that's for sure. And everything he sings is simply amazing.
Thanks Bea!

These are taken from the videos, which were actually less tinny than the direct audio source, which Tobi used (at least I prefer them). And 'yes', I did normalize them.

It cracks me up that people who thought Jack Johnson was lame now think he's been legitimized because Brian decided to play one of his songs.

Either like him or don't like him but think for yourselves guys.

I personally think Jack Johnson has some really great songs. My opinion is not going to change one way or the other based on what Brian Fallon thinks.

yeah. I'd be rather shocked if they play a new song at each Soundwave. Thats like, five songs so your releasing half your record early. It'll just be Biloxi Parish again =)

And you've put them on megaupload ... love you for that!!!!!
@ Bea: thanks so much for finding this!

Is this actually really the first time Brian performed Bring It On Acoustic? Amazing!
I also enjoyed the Jack Johnson cover. I'm not particularly a fan but I like some of his songs and it seems that he's a great, relaxed guy.

I can't imagine that they're playing a new song on each date (although I wouldn't mind ;o) but it really sounded like it in the interiew. We have to keep all eyes and ears open for that!!!! Would be great if get the chance on a second glimpse on the album!

Best case would be 3 different and completely new songs Very Happy

I still don't like him. It's just cool that Brian can make me enjoy a song by an artist that I don''t like by covering it. I don't like Kelly Clarkson at all but I love Brian's solo version of "I Don't Hook Up" just cause he absolutely kills it vocally. It's not like he changed my mind or anything.

Don't know much of Jack Johnson's stuff, but what I have heard I've really enjoyed. I'm a sucker for that laid back guitar pop thing him and a few other guys have going on. Especially during the summer.

I even like his song with the Black Eyed Peas *gasp*

i agree with you... i dont think he's cool just cause Brian covered his song. i always thought he was boring and uninspired...but to be honest, i've only listened to his radio tracks. but they still seem like generic surfer blah blah music. like if i surfed and smoked weed all day, i'd probly write that kinda stuff, too.

but from what i know, he donates a lot of money to charity, so that's really cool.

Has Brian performed most og the songs from American Slang acoustic now? The only ones I can think of that I'm missing are Stay Lucky and Orphans?!
