I can't imagine that they're playing a new song on each date (although I wouldn't mind ;o) but it really sounded like it in the interiew. We have to keep all eyes and ears open for that!!!! Would be great if get the chance on a second glimpse on the album!

Best case would be 3 different and completely new songs Very Happy

well, they played 'Biloxi Parish' again at Soundwave in Melbourne, so I guess Brian did just mean the one new song

Pretty cool festival-setlist:

1. High Lonesome
2. American Slang
3. The Diamond Church Street Choir
4. Old White Lincoln
5. The '59 Sound
6. Biloxi Parish (New Song)
7. Bring It On
8. Great Expectations
9. The Queen of Lower Chelsea
10. Orphans
11. The Backseat

I wonder if we'll get a bootleg from one of the australien shows like for example from Area4?

Well .. let's be grateful that we already heard one new song so far and keep our fingers crossed for more to come during the summer shows! *alreadycrossingfingers*

It cracks me up that people who thought Jack Johnson was lame now think he's been legitimized because Brian decided to play one of his songs.

Either like him or don't like him but think for yourselves guys.

I personally think Jack Johnson has some really great songs. My opinion is not going to change one way or the other based on what Brian Fallon thinks.

I still don't like him. It's just cool that Brian can make me enjoy a song by an artist that I don''t like by covering it. I don't like Kelly Clarkson at all but I love Brian's solo version of "I Don't Hook Up" just cause he absolutely kills it vocally. It's not like he changed my mind or anything.

The exact words of your original post were: "Jack Johnson isn't as lame as I thought he was." That is quite literally a description of someone whose mind has been changed about something. If that's not what you actually meant then that's cool.

Speaking of covers, I'm sure most people think the following idea would be quite lame but I think it would be AWESOME if Gaslight covered of one of New Jersey's other (less hip) megastars: Bon Jovi (hey, if Brian can cover Kelly Clarkson, why the hell not?)

I think the song "Wild in the Streets" (off the Slippery When Wet album) would be wicked if it got the Gaslight treatment (i.e., strip it down and take out the 80's synth). Hell, when you read the lyrics, it actually sounds like it could be a Gaslight song:

"Wild In The Streets"

Joey comes from a sacred part of town
Where sometimes you talk so tough
That your feet don't touch the ground
And the sidewalk soldiers sing the midnite blues
While the old men recite their story lines
About when I was young like you
They say: Oh yeah
We were cruising to the backbeat
Oh yeah, Making love in the backseats
We were wild, wild in the streets

A member of the boy's brigade
Had a date with the girl next door
You know it made her daddy crazy
But it only made her want him more
They weren't looking for trouble
You know that boy didn't want a fight - not tonight
So she headed out thru her bathroom window
What her daddy didn't know was gonna be alright
They said: Oh yeah
We were cruising to the backbeat
Oh yeah, Making love in the backseats
We were wild, wild in the streets
Wild, wild in the streets
Wild, wild in the streets
Wild, wild in the streets

Sometimes this town ain't pretty
But you know it ain't so bad
Just like a girl who looks so happy
When inside she's so so sad
In here we got this code of honor
Nobody's going down
You don't walk in vain
Trough the kid's parade
'Cause this is my hometown

Alright, I've convinced myself. This is the best idea ever. I'm writing a letter to Brian right now. Whose with me?!?

EDIT: This post should probably be moved to the "who would you like to see Gaslight cover" thread.

Don't get me wrong. I love me some Jovi. They're not "hip" in the sense that they're thought of by many as primarily an 80's band.
