Bamboozle 2011

First UK date confirmed for, Guernsey festival of performing arts.No idea about tickets ? Anybody ?
Looking at the bands also confirmed the headline act is Ocean Colour Scene, without being rude, ive seen OCS a few times, used to love them, but that was 10 years ago, Gaslight are way more today, never heard of any of the other bands .

I went to one bamboozle a few years ago. I ended up with passes so it was free. the first day I had a friend with me and we walked around and got drunk all day. the second day I was by myself and hung over. if you can handle the festival atmosphere, the expensive food and beer, the kids, etc, this year seems like a good deal, at least on saturday. I got a ticket today. I also live about 15 minutes from giants stadium so it's pretty convenient. it'd be nice to hear about smaller after-shows going on. I know at the fest in florida a lot of bands did acoustic sets in hotel lobbies and what not. that would be cool. there's a handful of hotels near by.

otherwise, I think this year is a decent line up. I think the majority of the people on this board would like river city extension. they're playing the same day. a friend of mine manages them and it took me a while to check them out, but they're real good... kind of frank turner-esque but with more of a streetlight manifesto/world inferno vibe. check them out.

that said, if anyone makes it from out of town, give me a shout. we'll hoist one.

We got our Saturday tickets the other day, so it's official. 14 hours to get there, and it's going to be AWESOME. Going to camp out in front of the Gaslight stage for as long as possible before they go on.

We're prepared to travel some more to get to other shows that might happen elsewhere. Not opposed to trekking to Philly if something's going on. Looks like we'll be spending a week since my husband will have enough paid time off work. Just need to save up for a hotel and dog boarding.

I'll be missing my last day of grad school classes to head out early. Don't care. I graduate May 14th

I'm pretty useless at bars, but if it's a place where I can grab some food and hang out, I am absolutely up for it! We don't really know anyone in the area. There's a guy in NYC we'll be meeting up with one day that week, but I doubt he'll be around for any shows or anything. Just an friend who left Chicago last year. Definitely need to connect with people as much as possible.

Def thinking of making the trip. Anybody know when they are adding more bands? If I do end up coming I'd dig grabbing a beer with ya'll. Def wanna check out these guys on Sat, that is if all the setimes work out.

Yeah, when have they released set times and stages in the past? I am really, really hoping New Found Glory is on immediately before Gaslight, on the same stage. I would not know what to do with myself!

The setimes are usually established a week or two before, at least thats my experience with other fests. I think thats what my friends have told me, who attended the past few years. I wouldn't be surprised if Gaslight headlined the sub stage and TBS headlined the bigger one. Not sure if they would play at the same time, or when Gaslight finished TBS would start. Apparently they are adding a bunch more bands in the next few weeks. Excited to see who else is playin'

I've heard the two headliners play one after the other; I fully expect TGA to play first, and TBS to close the show. I'm hoping so anyway, because I want to be way up there for TGA but I'll head over and watch TBS as well.

pretty sure gaslight and tbs will play back to back. won't find out set times for a while. also... looking forward to seeing who else gets added. would love to see the get up kids or the loved ones

Streetlight, Alkaline Trio, NFG, then Gaslight. That is a pretty solid set of four bands in a row.

tigers jaw and nfg are playing at the same time. in addition to that waka flocka cancelled. the ticket price is not worth it for me....ah well.

Here are some tips:

The Jumbo and Jolly Green stage are far apart.

There are a ton of (filthy) port-a-pottys along the back fence.

Parking on site was $25.

It was windy as all hell and cold at night once the crowd broke up.

The festival map online is not helpful at all.

I am annoyed cus I left NFG w/Marky Ramone to see 30STM but 30STM went on so late I could have stayed til the end of NFG/Marky. 30STM's delay also caused me to miss Rad Bromance's set. Yeah that's right. I wanted to watch an all boy band cover Lady Gaga. What about it! :O
