| Thanks for all the input, guys. I've listened to Cold Roses most of Easy Tiger. Magnolia Mountain, Halloweenhead, and How Do You Keep Love Alive are my favorite ones that are new to me. I think How Do You Keep Love Alive is my new favorite. it sounds ancient and magical | |

| I would say listen to Heartbreaker and Gold.
both are flawless.
also when I saw him two years ago, it was just him and his guitar (except one song on piano) it was awesome. so see him if he ever tours. |

I saw him in late 2011 and he seemed to have matured a lot. I've been a fan since 1998 and have seen him about 15 times, solo, with Whiskeytown, with the Sweetheart Revolution and with the Cardinals, and can honestly say he was more laid back, mellow and humorous in 2011 than I've ever seen him. I think he grew up, learned to communicate like an adult and left the asshole days behind. | |

| Just listened to Gold the other day (was it yesterday?) and I'm still astounded at how great that album is. So criminally underrated. One of the best songwriters without a doubt. | |

| I'm not a huge fan of his but I do like some of his music. I know a lot of people hate it but I have a soft spot for his Rock N Roll album. | |

| The show last night in Portland was great. It was special for me because I didn't think I'd ever see him play in a band format again. Come Pick Me Up at the end could have lasted forever had it been up to me. The setlist was a great mix of new songs, never-before played songs and familiar material. After the first few initial songs there was also some fun banter in between the songs making for just a great time "in concert". He seemed in a good place, happy to be playing. As for the venue, it was brutally hot inside and the acoustics weren't great. I loved the layout of the venue, though, with standing room in the front and then some elevated seating toward the back and the balcony. I believe all tickets were general admission and people could sit anywhere. There was a whole group of people in front of me who rushed upstairs to the balcony section to get the first-row seats there. There is a webcast from the Newport Folk Festival on Friday: http://www.npr.org/event/music/332030079/ryan-adams-live-in-concert-newport-folk-festival-2014 and a few more shows for the fall were announced this week, most of them will go on sale on Friday (with a presale tomorrow) Ryan Adams 2014 Tour Dates: 07/22 – Portland, ME @ State Theatre 07/23 – Burlington, VT @ Flynn Center for the Performing Arts 07/25 – Newport, RI @ Newport Folk Fest 07/26 – Camden, NJ @ XPoNential Music Festival 08/05 – Aspen, CO @ Belly Up Tavern 08/07 – Boulder, CO @ Fox Theatre 10/01 – Santa Barbara, CA @ Arlington Theater 10/05 – Portland, OR @ Arlene Schnitzer Hall 10/06 – Seattle, WA @ Paramount Ballroom 10/07 – Vancouver, BC @ Orpheum Theater 10/09 – Edmonton, AB @ Francis Winspear Theater 10/10 – Calgary, AB @ Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium 10/12 – Winnipeg, AB @ Burton Cummings Theater 10/13 – Minneapolis, MN @ Northrop at the University of Minnesota 10/14 – Milwaukee, WI @ Riverside Theater 10/16 – Chicago, IL @ Chicago Theater 10/18 – Ames, IA @ Stephens Auditorium 10/19 – St. Louis, MO @ Peabody Opera House 10/20 – Kansas City, MO @ Uptown Theater | |

I was planning on it but then decided not to. Figured I'd just wait for the album to drop. Pretty excited that he is playing with a full band again. |
