So is Rock Band Network stuff free downloads or do you have to pay for it like DLC? Either way that's still awesome and worth considering getting.

Yay! And RE the guy with the beard... in Rock Band, you make your own character and play as them, regardless of what the song is. The only time the band members are the originals are when you're playing The Beatles edition or something.

Early march, hopefully be ready to download next tuesday, thats when most new releases are available to download, not sure how these RBN songs will work downloading wise though.

The rock band network store is now live.
So whenever SOD/Gaslight manage to get everything sorted we should be able to start getting them in the game.
I know quite a few people here like The Hold Steady and they have, one, song on there anyway. - Sequestered in Memphis

Looks like RBN is holding out for some reason? On the main website they claim
Quote :
There are more than 100 songs available for purchase in the Rock Band Network Music Store from artists including The Shins, The Hold Steady, The Main Drag, Bang Camaro, Lacuna Coil, Stroke 9, and Steve Vai, with additional tracks already on the way from Flight of the Conchords, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Gaslight Anthem and many more coming soon.
I'm not sure what they are waiting for though...

There's loads of songs on the RBN.
They're just releasing them whenever they get through testing. Songs have been going up on it for over a month now.

I don't think so. Not really sure why -- but if I had to wager a guess they are not being played enough in testing?
