Just watched this video of Handwritten. The quality isn't the absolute best, but isn't there a different vibe to the song than usual? I dont know what it is, probably the lead guitar.

I think it's beacuse it's in standard tuning, instead of dropped down a step like they have played in the past

Yeah I thought about the tuning too. Weird that they suddenly play songs in standard tuning, they've never done that before? Also it seems like they speeded it up a little

It seems to have helped Brian's vocals a bit... He sounds much more fresh than he did at Coachella... Maybe moving it an octave up helped take some strain off?

Yeah, he sounds really good in the video. The same happened when they started to play 45, he didn't sound good at first, then they changed the tunning and fixed the problem.

As a musician, it's less straining on my voice to sing lower, so I would imagine tuning higher would make him strain a bit more. Either way, it sounds great.

I think he's got a lot of wear and tear singing in the low range, so moving it up puts the strain on a different region of his vocal cords, which is why it sounds great...

I think if there's no wear and tear already on your cords, you're absolutely right

Is that whole week in June postponed or just the Rhode Island show?

It looks like Friday and Sunday are still on.

See now that the RI show is in September I'll be in school so it'll be tricky...But I don't want to get a refund, buy tickets to the Huntington show and then find out that's getting rescheduled too..

Has anyone heard a reason for the postponing of that show?

I think the fact that it's now during the school year is going to cause problems for a lot of people. :/ Hopefully most will be able to work it out.

It is really odd though if they're just postponing this one so you're right to be suspicious. I haven't heard the reason but I'm curious to know.

I wrote back saying that was odd since they're in NY on Friday and Sunday. But ok. Maybe the 7th and 9th shows will be postponed too (?)

The complication is their booking agent lined up this week of shows that apparently don't work with their European/UK schedule. As I said before, makes you wonder what that person was thinking here. They'd bailed on Bonnaroo but still announced this week of shows when clearly the travel was going to be an issue.

Huntington, Cincinnati & Pittsburgh are up on Ticketmaster with new dates in September as well.

Any word on the June 10th show at the Norva in Norfolk, VA?

Agree--I guess they are late to changing it...site still selling tickets for June 12...

its weird since they added a june 11th pittsburgh show and cancelled it almost immediately after they added it.

Paramount in Huntington moved to September 8th.

Appears all of the June dates have now been moved.

Somebody involved in booking needs to get their shit together me thinks. It still makes no sense that they're rescheduling all of these because of their Europe tour. If they're going to replace them with more EU/UK dates after only coming home long enough for a few west coast dates and 2 nights in AP then I'm gonna have a cow.

Hmm, I wonder if they're not gonna play that Mountain Jam Festival then too. It's the day before Lupo's.
