| was listening to alot of Clash/Mescaleros today for obvious reasons (who really needs a reason though?).
listening to Burnin' Streets today, in light of recent events, was very sad... but it also reminded me yet again that this guy is the king.

| Happy Birthday to St. Joe Strummer, he might have been our only decent teacher.

| so i got the Sound System box for christmas. an expensive boxset may not be punk at all, but i don't really care because i have it and it's awesome.
so i had never actually listened to all of Sandinista until the other day. i always avoided buying it because people generally say its flawed and waaay too long.
but holy crap i love this album. maybe it's because my expectations were low, but i find every track at least interesting and most tracks exciting. and the rhythms are awesome, especially in the bass. somehow they do all these styles without being superficial while still sounding like the Clash. this might be my favorite Clash album. | |

| sandinista is a great album. so many gems are buried in there that every time you listen to it you'll find something else you hadn't appreciated before. | |

| Any triple album is going to be "flawed" but that doesn't mean it isn't great. The Clash have been my favorite band for years and while I love all the classics, Sandinista! is probably the most interesting album to me, though probably not objectively the best. | |
