new album is brilliant, also bought chamberlain but not got around to listening to that
think they have become more commercial with each album which has annoyed the hard core fans but is good news for me as i like there being a good tune behind the song

First time seeing them since hearing the new record. Not as into the new one as Chamberlain Waits, but man the songs sounded great.

Saw them tonight. They were really really good.

Only problem is that I think I stole one of their shirts by accident. One of the guys came over to talk to the guy doing merch right after he handed me the shirt. Then I left, came home and discovered the 20 I thought I had handed him in my pocket. So I feel bad =(

I found an email address on their myspace and sent them a message. also messaged them on facebook. so hopefully they'll let me send them some money. If not I'll just throw some at them next time I get to see 'em live.

I bought a copy of the new album last week and I've been loving the hell out of it. I had one of their other albums, and thought they were okay, but my god, after hearing On The Impossible Past, I'm in love.
So. Good.

After spending a lot of time with the new record I feel like it is my least favorite. Still much better than most of the crap that has come out so far this year.

I feel like its too faux americana. Which is the same reason why Gaslight irks me sometimes. Opposite of you, I have a hard time swallowing the whole record in one listen.

I do like how Greg says Budweiser. That rules. But all the mentions of being gung-ho American, are a little annoying to me.

So not a big fan of the American muscle cars?

Maybe its a little too much in places, but not to the extent where effects my enjoyment of the album. I mean, I personally agree that Chamberlain Waits is a better album. But both are the kind of album I love more and more with each listen though.

Still not sure how its 'faux' Americana though. Are you saying Tom and Greg over embellish their stories to make them even more American sounding?

i think the americana stuff is ironic/sarcastic. i feel like they do that on purpose to create a more cartoonish, stark picture. i really like the album btw

On The Impossible Past is amazing, best of the year so far for me. Seeing them and Hot Water Music tonight! So excited!

Their set in Boston last night ruled. Rancid palyed Boston last night too, so the zingers played Roots and Radicals in their encore.

Wow, what a live band. Easily one of the best I've ever seen. I don't know if it was because they knew they were opening for HWM or what, but that set was magic.
