Ok, I admit it. I'm late to the party with Against Me. Just picked up White Crosses, and love it. It's my first exp with AM, and it's a solid solid listen. Doing a bit of research on them since, they were grittier on past discs, and this is a bit poppier, more mature. Fine, I'm ok with that.
Aside from recommending the whole discography..what's the next CD I should get of theirs?
My interests tend to be a bit poppier than not, but my other favoritesbands outside of TGA are Rise Against, Red City Radio, Jack's Mannequin, Afghan Whigs/ Twilight Singers, etc...
Help me.

Probably most AM! fans would say that White Crosses is their least favorite. I still like it though. But if you like poppier, better produced stuff, you might just want to go backwards through their discography.
My personal fav is "As the Eternal Cowboy" but a lot of people like "Reinventing Axl Rose" the best. You can't really go too wrong though.

If you like the poppier side of things, check out New Wave. That was the switch they did to a major label. Not my favorite AM! record but it is super poppy.
Axl Rose, Eternal Cowboy, and Searching for.. are my go-to full lengths, because they are a little bit more gritty.

So are they working on a new album? my favorite albums can really be a toss up between clarity, new wave, and white crosses. it changes

Unfortunately not, will travel around europe this summer.
Oh, Against Me! I love them so much. One of the best live gig's I've ever been to. And their music! The more you listen to it, the better it gets. Never gets boring. Thrilled to see Tommy Gabel this year again, at Groezrock!

I was going to say he should get a haircut but then last night on Twitter he made some comment about how people should stop telling him to get a haircut so now I'm gonna be nice and not say anything at all.

so... i just got the new Rolling Stone, and there is a big interview with Tom Gabel... about how he is transgender and coming out as a woman. didn't see anything else about it online, so i thought maybe he was punking everyone, but... i guess he's serious, so good for him/her.

Interesting if true, but not a thing about it on the net, would have expected it to at least be out there. Mind you, not something that really deserves to be joked about if not true.
Keith Caputo handled this whole matter beautifully a while back.

That song was from the latest Revival Tour, and well, with the whole meaning of the song title...
